In a New Relationship? What to Do About Valentine’s Day

It doesn't have to be awkward

Valentine’s Day is never easy. Sure, in a long term relationship there are probably still expectations of dinner, gifts, and making sweet love, but even after a few years of being together, making romantic plans can be a pain, and finding the right present can be tricky.

What if you’ve only been dating someone for a few weeks or months? There’s a period after “Let’s be exclusive” and before “I love you” is said. If Valentine’s Day comes around during this period for you, what are you supposed to do? You could straight up ignore it, but if you or your partner is the romantic type, you might want to do something small at least.

Check out some options and discuss them with your new partner.
