Uber-Guilty: Man Sues Uber for Revealing That He Was Cheating on His Wife!
A Small Glitch
Uber relies on location services to locate its clients; there’s no secret about that. But when these location services go awry, it can lead to some tricky complications.
This man, from the Côte d’Azur in the south of France, alleges that a simple glitch in Uber’s system has caused him a world of pain by revealing to his wife where he’d been going.
All on the Table
He claims that this glitch caused Uber to send details of his past drives to his wife, even after he had logged out. It sent this information, including pick up locations, destinations, and times, to his wife’s handset.
His wife then used this information as evidence that he was cheating on her and filed for divorce.
Now this man has decided that it’s time to sue Uber, and it’s not chump change he’s going after. In fact, he wants $45 million for the part that Uber allegedly played in revealing his affair.
This isn’t the first time that Uber has been criticized for its design. In fact, a former uber employee filed a lawsuit for illegally deleting data and accused them of tracking celebrities, politicians, and people who were once dating.
