So Apparently Micro-Cheating Is Now a Thing. Are You Guilty of It?
It still has the word "cheat"...
There is now a huge grey area between cheating and not cheating. “Cheating” used to be clear cut: Did you exchange fluids? Did a part of their body go into yours or vice versa? It was a physical act with someone that was not your partner.
Micro-cheating is more emotional. Especially with texting and social media, it’s easier than ever to be sly when flirting with someone else. Dating expert Melanie Schilling explains it succinctly for HuffPost Australia: “Micro-cheating is a series of seemingly small actions that indicate a person is emotionally or physically focused on someone outside their relationship.”
Of course, micro-cheating is different from having friends. It could be a random Instagram person who you told you’re single. Or maybe you’ve started texting your ex again.
