It’s been 20 years since my best friend and I met, and we’ve never seen each other without our clothes on. I am the “I don’t give af” woman who will change in front of anyone, but she’s always been more self-conscious about her body, always calling herself “fat.” Looking back on old photos of herself, she now says: “Why did I think I was fat?! I was hot!”

Even though I’m comfortable without clothes that doesn’t mean I don’t have bits and pieces of my body that I don’t like. It’s just that I’ve learned to accept them over time — looking at you cellulite! — especially as I’m getting older and have more pressing things to worry about — looking at you IRS!

It’s important to feel comfortable in your own skin. Being cool with going au natural will help with confidence and self-esteem, which will branch out to other aspects of your life, like relationships and work. I’m not telling you to go out to a beach without a stitch on. I’m simply trying to help people accept their bodies and even embrace them. Keep reading.
