When we heard of Jimmy Choo’s collab with Uggs, we jokingly took a stab at what we thought “Chuggs,” high-heeled fuzzy booties, would look like. Behold Stella McCartney‘s latest footwear creation which, although it looks like the product of a kooky partnership with Birkenstock, is in fact her own doing. The pumps take after the hippie shoes by borrowing signature elements like the leather buckle, molded interior, and cork sole. We’re not sure what Stella was smoking when she designed these, and moreover, why she’d slap a $600 price tag on them. If you’re that into them, why not just stick some twigs in the heels of your earthy sandals? (It’d be more environmentally friendly anyhow.) [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
Even though spring weather is just peeping out from the layers of yesterday’s ice and we’re just barely defrosting, the fashion world works in mysterious ways, kids, and editors are busy checking out upcoming fall collections. Last night we scoped out J.Crew‘s deliciously styled fall line and at least we can say we have something to look forward to when it gets chilly out again. The sequins trend continues with drool-worthy bedazzled pants and skirts, and spots of denim, leather, wool, tweed, yummy jewelry and hats are all on the menu. Another look (and the ultra sharp men’s collection), after the jump. Keep reading »
We’re used to Topshop for excellent Brit fashion and making the ’80s OK. Now we’re loving it more for an edgier side that’s surprisingly soft—like this asymmetrical linen “Waterfall” jacket that looks like it walked off the Yohji runway. So many options: wear under a blazer for a flourished layer look, keep on the back of your desk chair as an office cover-up once they start cranking the A/C, or pair with tailored shorts and heels for a smart biz-casual style. For the long-haired ladies, we’d love to see this paired with a high, tight bun.
These child models for Burberry‘s kid’s collection are so cute we might puke. Doesn’t this kind of make you want to have kids just so you can parade them around in a mini Burberry trench? [Style Frizz] Keep reading »
As of late, fashion blogger and street style shooter Garance Doré has added videos to her repertoire. Many of her videos so far have focused on runway shows, the behind the scenes action, and the models strutting down the catwalk. In her most recent installment, “A Month in Fashion,” she gives a peek at her life as a fashion blogger, traveling around the world to fashion shows, frequently in the company of her fiance, fellow style blogger Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist. It’s stylish, sweet, and romantic. [Garance Doré] Keep reading »
