Tween Bro And Sis Show The Foo Fighters How It’s Done

Irish brother and sister Dylan and Lauren McBride really like the Foo Fighters track “Everlong.” They also happen to be gifted musicians — and in this clip from 2010′s Oxjam Electric Picnic, the pair manage to win over a crowd of opinionated adult music fans with their cover of the hit song. This is so good it makes us want to (finally) learn how to play acoustic guitar. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

Jason Schwartzman Strips Down To Show Us An iPhone App

When The New Yorker tapped funny guy Jason Schwartzman to promote its new iPad application, the magazine probably figured he’d make a few jokes and some silly commentary. But the editors probably didn’t expect they’d get Schwartzman wearing nothing but a jean jacket and a strategically placed iPad. In this hilarious clip, directed by Roman Coppola, Schwartzman shows us a typical humdrum day in his Hollywood star life, sings us a song and goes for a dip in his glorious pool — all with the iPad at his side. Sarah Palin Gets Booed On “Dancing With The Stars”

Last night, Sarah Palin dropped by to watch the live filming of “Dancing with the Stars,” sitting in the front row. But apparently, several members of the audience could not contain their lack of excitement and booed her as she took her seat. The boos could be heard in the telecast—they happened before Sarah appeared onscreen and while Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were doing their post-dance interview. The two thought the boos were for them and looked confused since their quickstep was pretty great. A minute later, Sarah appeared to the folks at home for this interview, which reveals that she’s rooting for “Bristol the Pistol.” Sarah also seems to have coined a new word: Zawesome. Totally taking that one. Keep reading »

Diablo Cody Teams Up With Charlize Theron For Her Next Flick, “Young Adult”

OK, OK, so “Jennifer’s Body” bombed. But Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind “Juno,” is the kind of lady who dusts herself off to try again. Our girl Diablo is teaming up with “Juno” director Jason Reitman again for “Young Adult,” a screenplay she has written about a woman who returns to her hometown and tries to reconnect with the guy she once dated. He’s married with a kid, however, and could care less about her popping up in his life again. Scrumptious Patrick Wilson will allegedly play the male lead, with comedian Patton Oswalt as his schlumpy best friend; Charlize Theron is confirmed to play the female lead who is chasing after her old guy. Damn, the makeup department’s really gonna have to uggify Charlize to make that plot believable. I don’t know a single surburban dad would who wouldn’t drop everything to worship at her feet if she sashayed back in town. Anyway, go, go, go, Diablo! [SlashFilm] Keep reading »

Epic “Australia’s Next Top Model” Fail

Did you know that Tyra Banks’ “Top Model” franchise has spread across the globe and that there are versions of the show in a bunch of other countries? Well, the Australian version of the show is gonna be getting a call from Banks, I’ll bet, after the epic fail that was their finale episode of the most recent season. This time, viewers and a live audience got to choose the winner and when the time came to announce the results, producers accidentally gave the host the wrong name. In the video above, 19-year-old Kelsey is thanking the crowd for voting her “Australia’s Next Top Model,” when host Sarah Murdoch suddenly is informed by ear piece that, OOPSIES, the winner is actually the other chick, Amanda. This is a live television nightmare turned into reality. Someone’s gettin’ a Tyra-talkin’-to. [via Dlisted] Keep reading »

Fall TV Guide: “Sister Wives,” The Real-Life “Big Love”

Last night, I had dinner over at my mom’s apartment with my brother and his girlfriend and we got to talking about reconsidering the legality (or illegality) of plural marriage, i.e. polygamy. Putting aside personal feelings on the idea of polygamy, what we ended up concluding was that the government shouldn’t consider marriage a religious institution at all, as it violates the notion of separation between church and state, and that marriage, if anything, needs to remain a legal union between two individuals — no more — so that the monetary benefits don’t reward those who marry multiple people for so-called religious reasons or otherwise.

So why am I blathering on about plural marriage anyway? Because last night was the series premiere of “Sister Wives,” the reality show about a man and his three (soon to be four!) wives and their flock of children living in Utah. And, for the most part, it was boring. Keep reading »

Deja Vu All Over Again: Courteney Cox In “Scream 4″

The cast of “Scream 4” makes us want to squeal—the flick stars Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell, and Anna Paquin, plus has Neve Campbell reviving her role as Sidney Prescott while Courteney Cox is returning as tabloid reporter Gale Weathers. We’ve got a while to wait until it opens in theaters—until April—but the first image of the film has been released. I find it pretty interesting that even though the flick stars all these so-hot-right-now stars, they decided to go with Courteney being chased by the masked murderer for the first pic. Because, haven’t we seen that before? [EW] Keep reading »

“The Hills” Are Alive: Lauren Conrad To Do A New Show On MTV

You’ve been going through Lauren Conrad withdrawal ever since she walked away from “The Hills,” right? No? OK, well, then you probably won’t be very excited about the news that Lauren will once again be starring in an MTV reality series. She revealed to Ryan Seacrest on Friday that a new show about her life is in the works—and this time it’ll focus exclusively on her work life as she designs and markets her clothing line. In other words, it will be all the blah of “The Hills” with none of the juiciness. Keep reading »
