Only Margaret Cho could make history as the first woman ever to grace the cover of Unzipped Magazine, the so-called magazine for men who love men. She appears on the cover along with porn star Ricky Sinz, in bondage gear. “Margaret Cho transcends sexual stereotypes,” said Dustin Tyner, Group Publisher for Unzipped Media. “The energy and sex appeal Margaret and Ricky bring to the article is amazing. The photos are electric, and we’re thrilled to have two iconic sexual adventurers on the cover of our ‘Hot Issue.’” Of course, Cho finds a way to make this somehow oddly funny and sexy at the same time. This is why Cho is my hero. [Unzipped] Keep reading »
In a bizarre move that makes me think Lindsay Lohan and the editors of Vogue suffer from amnesia and severe blindness, LiLo is on the August cover of Spanish Vogue in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired photo shoot. In the image, she dons a blond, Marilyn-ish wig, and on her dress is a ginormous black-and-white print of Marilyn’s face.
Sound familiar? Yep, it should. Last year, she did a photo shoot for New York where she recreated shot-for-shot Marilyn’s last images. Two expensive photo shoots later, I still fail to see any similarities between Monroe, the voluptuous ‘50s sex goddess turned American icon, and alarmingly-thin LiLo. Keep reading »
Celebrity stylist Jennifer Rade had been making like a fashion squirrel for months, collecting clothes for Angelina Jolie to wear while promoting her new flick, “Salt.” Jolie was scheduled for a fitting on Friday, but the night before, someone ganked three boxes full of designer pieces from Rade’s studio. We aren’t too surprised. I mean, clothes and jewels are expensive, and whoever took them now stands to make a hefty sum. Or they’ll just look fabulous? [NY Post]
Oddly, this crime reminded us of a few others. Keep reading »
Friday nights have meant a long-standing date with Joel McHale and I. (And by “date,” I mean pretending he’s not the married father of two.) So when I read the host of E!’s “The Soup” will star in not one but two upcoming projects, backflips of joy were in order.
The first project is The Informant, an FBI thriller with Matt Damon debuting this October. Joel is actually a classically trained actor with a Master’s from the University of Washington, which explains why Stephen Soderbergh cast him. But he’ll keep close to his “Soup”-y comedic routes with his second project, starring alongside Chevy Chase on “Community,” an NBC comedy series about community college students and their professors. —[Papermag] Lucky for us, he’ll still be taping “The Soup” in addition to “Community.”
Seeing as Joel’s made his big break to network TV, it’s time to learn more about my dream boyfriend than just his very deep thoughts on “America’s Next Top Model.” Click through for five things to know about Joel McHale: Keep reading »
Did everyone watch Lindsay Lohan’s TV movie “Labor Pains” last night? I did not, as I was wrapped up in another episode of “The World’s Smallest Children” on Discovery Health (which you must watch, as it is utterly fascinating) and then went to bed early. But apparently, in the movie, Lindsay basically plays a pregnant version of herself, or so we’re led to believe by this video put together by the folks at Buzzfeed. Anyway, I’m sure the movie got such huge ratings that ABC Family probably will reair it every weekend for the next 30 years. Um, or not. [Buzzfeed] Keep reading »
If you are as big of an Oprah fan as I am — (I have been watching since I was 8, have written multiple letters trying to get on the show, and own the exhaustive Oprah Anniversary DVD collection. Moral of story, I heart Oprah.) — then you are also feeling bitter that you weren’t able to force yourself aboard Oprah’s debaucherous 10-day cruise with her 2,000 most valued employees and, err…gal pal…Gayle. Steadman couldn’t make it, AGAIN. No comment. While I was at home sweating in my humid apartment and taking cold showers while imagining that I was in a swimming pool, Oprah’s crew was tearing it up on the open seas. After the jump, the top 5 reasons I really missed out. Keep reading »
Auditions for the next season of “American Idol” are fast approaching, but wannabe singers may not be the only ones who are asked to leave the stage. Judge Paula Abdul‘s contract is up and she hasn’t been offered a new one yet. The producers are keeping quiet about what they plan do to with Paula, which is pissing off her reps. Paula’s manager said, “It does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol.’” Rumors that Paula may be leaving have sparked a “Keep Paula” movement on Twitter. It’s the second highest topic on the Twitterverse, right after “Indonesia Unite” and right before … “SpongeBob?” If Paula is giving up her judge’s chair, whatever will she do with her life? Here are our suggestions. [LA Times] Keep reading »
We’ve long admired Lady Gaga‘s ambitious and avant garde fashion style, but has she gone too far with this one? Poor Kermie. Keep reading »
Some of the funniest ladies ever — i.e. Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Christina Applegate, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mary-Louise Parker and Jane Krakowski — got together for an Emmy round table and it’s pretty adorable. Suck it, Christopher Hitchens! Keep reading »
