George Clooney Dies, Returns To Life

A-list Hollywood actors do cheesy ads abroad for mega-bucks, hoping no one in America will see them. Too late, George! In this spot for Nespresso espresso, Clooney, who plays an espresso drinker, hangs out with John Malkovich, who plays God, natch. The surreal spot was directed by Robert Rodriguez, who directed “Spy Kids” and “Sin City.” It’s kind of weird to see Michael Clayton hawking espresso, but I’ll take my George however I can get him. The Shock Over Britney Spears’ Lip-Syncing Is Ludicrous

It’s not often that I agree with John Mayer, but even I have to admit he had a point when he tweeted: “If you’re shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you.” You see, Britney Spears is on the Australia-leg of her “Circus” tour, and some fans and Australian government officials are upset that she lip-syncs during the performances. “It was so impersonal. She did not interact with her audience,” says dissatisfied fan Wendy Di Renzo, who told People she paid $148 for her ticket. “There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn’t know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her.” Australian press reported that fans walked out of her shows after a few songs, saying it was boring, mimed, and stiff. The Fair Trade Minister of New South Wales even suggested that concert tickets carry a disclaimer about whether artists lip-sync or prerecord parts of their concerts. But anyone who is a true Britney fan should know that she very rarely sings live during her performances. Her voice isn’t strong enough for her to sing while dancing and performing acrobatics, so fans have to decide whether they want to be visually entertained while hearing her music. And what fun is a pop music concert if the artist sits in a chair while singing the whole time? [Reuters, People]

Chris Brown Says He’ll Never Put His Hands On A Woman Again

Chris Brown sat down with Sway at MTV to discuss his assault of Rihanna on Feb. 8. He tries to portray himself as a changed man who is learning from his actions, even going as far as to say that he knows for certain he’ll never assault another woman and enjoys learning to control his anger in his domestic violence classes. But, I’m sorry to say, he never seems truly remorseful, except when discussing how this has negatively affected his career. He’s hardly humble, saying that his hecklers are just being “ignorant.” And he only pays lip service to the fact that healthy relationships aren’t violent. Towards the end, I got the feeling that Chris still has hopes he and Rihanna will get back together.

You can watch parts two and three of the interview here. Keep reading »

Celebrity Girl Haters

I’m always skeptical of a woman who says doesn’t have girlfriends. It’s a real red flag for me – that leaves me wondering, “What’s wrong with this picture?” Is she untrustworthy? A boyfriend stealer? A narcissist? Sure – it’s fun and healthy to have guy friends (less drama for sure) – but it’s downright shady not to be able to get along with other ladies. According to a recent interview with Metro, Megan Fox thinks girls can’t be friends with one another because we all have daddy issues. When asked about the “frenemies” phenomenon she said, “Yes, girls are awful. But, in their defense, girls are awful because of the way society is set up – we’re constantly in competition for male attention. Our fathers raise us wrong and we spend the rest of our lives searching for boys to pay attention to us, which validates us. So no girl can really be your friend, because if she takes attention from you, your daddy doesn’t love you.” Watchu talkin’ ‘bout Megan? That’s some messed up stuff. I think she just proved my theory. Something’s not quite right there … but we already kind of knew that. After the jump, some other celebs that are girl haters. Gotta makes you wonder … [Celebitchy] Keep reading »

New photos of Sammy Sosa attending an awards event in Las Vegas hit the web over the weekend, and the former baseball slugger looked quite different, to say the least. Quote Of The Day: Michelle Obama Gives Great Dating Advice

“Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? That’s the advice I would give to women: Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul. Look at how the guy treats his mother and what he says about women. How he acts with children he doesn’t know. And, more important, how does he treat you? When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good. You should never feel less than. You should never doubt yourself. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole. And if you’re in that relationship and you’re dating, then my advice is, don’t get married.”

— Michelle Obama speaks with Katie Couric in an interview for Glamour magazine, which just named her Woman of the Year. Single women need to print this quote, stick it to their bathroom mirror and read it every morning. Keep reading »
