Hair Dos: 8 Sexy Hairstyles From The SAG Awards And How To Get Them!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the gowns on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awardswere pretty sweet, but the hair — the hair!!! — was even better. Intricate braids, messy buns, sleek bobs, and gorgeous waves all made me eager to lock myself in the bathroom and get busy with my curling iron and a fistful of elastics and bobby-pins. Here are eight looks I loved and how to get them!

  • Cynthia Nixon from “Sex and the City” is clarifying her comments about how, for her, being gay is a choice by pointing out she was only speaking for her. In a statement, Cynthia said: “My recent comments in The New York Times were about me and my personal story of being gay. I believe we all have different ways we came to the gay community and we can’t and shouldn’t be pigeon-holed into one cultural narrative which can be uninclusive and disempowering.”  [The Advocate]
  • We were so distracted by the drip running down Christina Aguilera’s leg at Etta James’ funeral — apparently it was spray tanner? — that we didn’t mention Christina killed it performing “At Last.” [Evil Beet Gossip]
  • “The Real Housewives of New York City”‘s Cindy Barshop has promised to only use faux fur in her fox fur merkins. Umm, that doesn’t make the furry merkin idea any less stupid. [NYMag.com]

Luckily there were a few bright spots, like Emma Roberts rocking this stunning dress. I love how the floral print pops against the black fabric. So pretty. Want one of your own? We rounded up some similar styles at non-celebrity prices–wear now with tights and boots, or pair with simple sandals in the warmer months. Click through to check ‘em out…

This week’s issue of New York magazine features a fascinating look at the high cost of celebrity culture. One major money area of celebrity life? It seems, though, that the more famous a celebrity, the less they actually pay for, as brands and designers clamor to be affiliated with famous faces. Take Charlize Theron’s head-turning look at the 2012 Golden Globes — and who paid for it…
