Through YouTube videos like “Gem Sweater” and “Blame My Booty”, this corn-fed Iowa girl has gotten the whole Internet freaky for her beat-boxin’, hip-shakin’, laugh-makin’ hits. Covered in gold spandex unitards and a mop of blond curls that would put even Dolly Parton to shame, Leslie has inspired a cult following as enthusiastic as her awesome boogie. Last night, she brought the house down at the Bust 15th Anniversary Party with silly lyrics and neon fringe from her crotch to her toes. I bought a pink “Shazam I’m Glamorous!” t-shirt from her mom/costumer and waited in line so I could get her to autograph it. But let me tell you, Leslie was worth the wait! Yesterday, Brooke Hogan continued her quest for attention by posting phony mugshots on her MySpace page. Not only is this kind of pathetic, but it’s also a little insensitive to her brother Nick, who is serving time in jail for a 2007 car crash that severely injured his friend. We were positively puzzled when we saw this headline on Variety.com: “Jolie replaces Cruise in ‘Salt’.” According to the article, Angelina Jolie may take on the title role in Edwin A. Salt, a film about “a CIA officer who is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence.” Tom Cruise had wanted to play the role for a long time, but when his interest faded, and Jolie expressed her enthusiasm and the studio decided to rewrite the screenplay with a female lead (the title will also be changed). Now, we didn’t think Angelina and Tom had anything in common, except for the fact that they’re both half of high-powered Hollywood couples, but upon further inspection, we found that the two may have been separated at birth.
