Recently, Kate Hudson has been using an interesting technique to avoid answering questions about Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez: she laughs. We’re not sure when Kate Hudson‘s episode of “Inside the Actor’s Studio” was taped, but we’re guessing it was before rumors started began swirling that she and Alex had split. In the above clip from tonight’s episode, host James Lipton asks her about A-Rod, and she giggles, saying, “It was a wonderful summer, a great, great, great fall.”

Granted a woman who was airbrushed up the wazoo on the cover of W is not a role model for aging gracefully. But at least Demi Moore talked back when the haters talked smack about how “old” the 47-year-old actress looks ...

If you watched James Franco hosting “SNL” this weekend, then you might have noticed a little bit of a theme … homosexuality. Almost every skit contained some sort of gay reference. Hmmm … let’s see: He played Latin singing star Rico Garlanda, danced in footsie pajamas, portrayed James Dean exchanging secret Santa gifts with Liberace and Vincent Price, and finally engaged in multiple, incestuous man-on-man kisses (with tongue). Interesting. He said in his opening monologue that every move in his career is calculated.  What shall we, your adoring audience, take this to mean, Mr. Franco? Is pretending to be gay part of your “performance art”? Or could this just be a ploy to perpetuate rumors that you’re gay and confuse your fans? Stay tuned to the Franco gallery for the next clue.

TMZ reports actress Brittany Murphy died in Los Angeles of cardiac arrest this morning. She was only 32.

According to the L.A. Fire Department, a 911 call was placed at 8 a.m. this morning from a house belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack.

Sources then told TMZ that Brittany Murphy’s mom found her in the shower and when paramedics arrived, they determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest. Although paramedics administered CPR all the way to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that blonde, blue-eyed beauty Cate Blanchett went through a goth phase. Really? I mean, I went through one, too, but I never would have expected that from prim and proper Cate. When asked in an interview about how her beauty regime has changed over time, Blanchett admitted, “I’d go to bed with my makeup on if I’d been out. And I went through a big gothic phase, so my pillow was always covered in black mascara and white pancake makeup.” Never would have guessed.

Poor Tina Douglas, mother and manager of Ashanti. Millions of fans are crazy for her daughter, and Tina can handle most of them. Except one guy, Devar Hurd, who got a lot crazier than the rest. He’s charged with aggravated harassment for sending Tina pictures of his penis, as well as long, creepy texts and voicemails about his obsession with Ashanti, who doesn’t even know him.
