Just a week after the NBA fined Kobe Bryant a cool $100,000 for calling a ref a “f**king fa**ot” during a game, the Lakers filmed a PSA reminding fans “Words Can Be Hurtful.” The low-budget vid stars Kobe, Lamar Odom and other b-ballers telling us the world is a “special” place because peeps have all kinds of races, ethnicities, political beliefs, and sexual orientations. It ends with Kobe imploring you to have some compassion and understanding for others.
What a great video — I only wish it hadn’t taken a $100,000 mistake for it to be made.

“I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar. Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning. I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control. … What’s important for me now is to help others.”
— Demi Lovato opens up about her bipolar disorder, just one day after Catherine Zeta-Jones shared with People that she suffers from bipolar II disorder (a variation of bipolar). Demi’s confession sheds some light on the drama in November when she abruptly left the Jonas Brothers’ world tour after a fight with a backup dancer. She checked into rehab (for an eating disorder and cutting), where she was diagnosed as bipolar. I applaud Demi Lovato for her candor about her mental health, especially at the young age of 18. “This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them. If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help.”
— Catherine Zeta-Jones opened up to People about her struggles with mental health. Bipolar II disorder is marked by long periods of depression with shorter spurts of mania. Catherine was reportedly having trouble dealing with her husband Michael Douglas’ battle with throat cancer and briefly checked into a mental health facility in Connecticut in early April. I applaud Catherine for coming out about her illness. She’s right: there is no shame in seeking help. [People] Keep reading »
Nicolas Cage was arrested for domestic abuse in New Orleans when he allegedly shoved his wife on the street early this morning. A “very drunk” Cage was reportedly arguing with his wife, Alice, on the street when a cab driver witnessed him grab his wife by the arm and try to drag her. (TMZ claims the couple was arguing about the address of the apartment they are renting.) When cops arrived, they saw Cage hitting parked cars and trying to get inside a taxi cab to leave, before being ordered to get out. The cops apparently told the couple to just go home but Cage reportedly taunted them twice, daring them to arrest him. Cops called his bluff and arrested him on domestic abuse and disturbing the peace. Bail was set at $11,000 and he was released around noon Saturday. The actor is in New Orleans filming a movie called “Medallion.”

posted this video of herself confronting an anti-gay
protestor outside a concert. They bicker about Gaga’s “pervert stuff” and whether or not she’s headed to hell. Fortunately, he gifted her a “get out of hell free” card. I am sure that works.
The good stuff starts about a minute in (after her gratuitous makeup application, natch). Congratulations, Mr. Bigotry, you are the one man on Earth who answers the greeting, “Hi, I’m Lady Gaga,” with a belligerent “So?!” (Audio is NSFW — use headphones!) [YouTube via Styleite] Keep reading »
A nude photo of Elizabeth Taylor at age 24 has been released by a “private collector.” Yes, even Liz Taylor had a naked pic! Elizabeth reportedly had her friend Roddy McDowall take the photograph — in which she’s crouched naked on a shaggy carpet — as an engagement gift for her third husband Michael Todd. After Hubby #3 died, a heartbroken Liz reportedly gave the naked pic to her assistant/makeup artist, Penny Taylor. Somehow it found its way to “private collector” (of what, nude pics?) Jim Shaudis, who released the photo after Liz died on March 23. While it’s not exactly classy to bust out nude pics, I guess it’s somewhat more acceptable that the collector waited until her death. And let’s be honest: doesn’t girlfriend look damn fine? [Daily Mail UK] Keep reading »
“Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your s**t. That’s fun to me … I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned — you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. I’d rather have him use his hands.”
— Rihanna may sing in “S&M” that “chains and whips excite me,” but IRL the girl just loves a good old-fashioned spanking. Hawt. [Rolling Stone] Keep reading »
“I’m definitely having more sex than the average man. Yes, two or three women a night, trust me. The other day I slept with two women — not at the same time — because I was at home and they missed me. But you know, these are my friends; we missed each other. So I just want to give joy and good tidings, that’s what it’s all about.”
— Cee Lo Green brags about how much nookie he’s getting from friends-with-benefits these days. The title of his album, The Lady Killer, is no joke, y’all!
After the jump, Cee Lo on whether the ladies find him more attractive now that he’s a bajillionaire… Keep reading »
“I used to vomit after meals. It’s not something I’m proud of. But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I’d be on the cover of every magazine. I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars. But I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t. I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy — I like food. I’m a pop star, not a model. Don’t make me feel s**t for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder.”
—Lily Allen opened up on her forthcoming British docu-reality show, “Lily Allen: Rags To Riches” that she used to have an unhealthy relationship with food. I knew there had to be something more to that song, “Everything’s Just Wonderful,” where she sings, “I wanna be able to eat spaghetti Bolognese / And not feel bad about it for days and days and days.” I’m glad you’re recovering, Lily!
