“We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow. In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party. An evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.”
— I will never understand why celeb couples feel obligated to release public statements about their breakups. At least Karen Elson and Jack White are (amicably?) going out with a bang. Does a couple get to register for a divorce party, too? [Pitchfork] Keep reading »
Oh cruel world, say it ain’t so. Rumor has it that LeAnn Rimes made a sex tape. No, I’m not talking about those grainy security cam videos that showed her smooching Eddie Cibrian when they were both supposedly happily married to other people. LeAnn allegedly made a sex tape with her ex-husband, Dean Sheremet. According to Star Magazine, the tape was found in a moving truck—which, what? But when Dean was asked about it, he said that it was in the realm of possibility that a tape had been unearthed. “Things like this happen!” he said. “We were married for eight years. We did a lot of s**t!”
LeAnn, naturally, is in heavy denial mode. Keep reading »
“In the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am. I don’t need anything to confirm how happy I am … Whenever I see my picture in a magazine, I know what is being written. They all say that I spend my time organizing parties and that my boyfriend does not want to marry me and be with me anymore. My boyfriend has not given an interview on his private life since 1999. Everything that you read is just a rehash of stuff that has been written in the past.”
—Elisabetta Canalis, otherwise known as the girlfriend of George Clooney, talks to Chi magazine about how it feels to hear the press say her dude of two years is never going to marry her. She seems to have pretty good perspective on the matter. But as The NY Daily News points out, George has talked more recently about tying the knot. Earlier this year, he appeared on “Piers Morgan Tonight” and said, “I was married. So I gave it a shot. I’ve proven how good I was at it.” Yeah, that doesn’t sound too promising. Keep reading »
“My greatest mistake right now is, I’ve been clinging to my art. In that, I have victory for my art and a great loss for my heart. At the moment, my beautiful fiancee is no longer my beautiful fiancee. … Two halves don’t make a whole. Two wholes make a whole. In my relationship, I was giving myself away to make the relationship better, but in actuality, wasn’t doing better by doing that. I became less of a man. … We are still super friends, we go to yoga together, we surf together. We acknowledge the journey that each of us is on. We certainly want each of us to feel whole and complete. And it’s when you’re whole and complete that that attraction exists and it really thrives.”
– Jason Mraz, the singer behind “I’m Yours,” told The Daily Beast that Tristan Prettyman is no longer his fiancee. While it’s refreshing to see a famous person deviate from the robotic “We have made the mutual decision to end our relationship … please respect our privacy … we remain good friends” canned breakup statement, knowing that Mraz and his ex still do downward dog together and are all “shaka bra” or whatever is a bit overshare-y, no? I mean, are they sharing custody of their bong too? [The Daily Beast] Keep reading »
Going to your 10-year college reunion is fun. It’s even better if you happen to look hot and have gone on to a fun and fulfilling career. And I have to imagine it’s all the way to awesome if you go with a famous Jessica on your arm. This weekend, two very famous faces were on hand for the Yale Class of 2001 reunion—Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba. Both were there with their respective dudes. JessSimp attended with her fiance, Eric Johnson, who played football at the school. Meanwhile, JessAlba attended with her hubby, Cash Warren.
Both Tweeted extensively about the Yale experience. Keep reading »
It appears that Jennifer Aniston may have a new dude in her life—one Mr. Justin Theroux. The two were first seen together in March, at the Chateau Marmont, having dinner with a group of friends. But more recently they have been spotted having dinner solo and even having a sleepover at Jen’s house. Us Weekly calls them “undercover lovers” and says they are “inseparable.” And a source told People this week that on May 27, Jennifer had a shindig for close friends like Courteney Cox and Chelsea Handler, and invited Justin too. “They all had a great time and enjoyed Justin’s company,” the source explained. “He’s edgier than the guys Jen usually dates. She really likes him!”
Might I add that, when he shaves, Justin is smoking hot?
So who is this guy? Find out after the jump. Keep reading »
The self-shot venison dinner, the cowboy boots for the bridesmaids, the wearing of her mom’s wedding dress, the fishing honeymoon—yes, we have been thoroughly obsessed with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s sweet downhome wedding. But now a new detail has reeled me in even further. Apparently, Miranda and Blake were adamant about their dogs—chihuahua Cher, chihuahua-pug Delta, and terrier Delilah—being a big part of their nuptials. The three pups walked down the aisle with one of Miranda’s boot-clad bridesmaids. The doggies even got their own rhinestoned bandanas and collars for the occasion. “They were rock stars! Total rock stars, ” says Miranda’s publicist/wedding planner. “They were tiny little representatives, but they got a lot of laughs and attention. They were right in the big middle of everything … [Miranda] wanted a place where everybody would be comfortable, would have a great time, just feel at home and her dogs could be a part of it.”
This has me wondering—would you have your pets be a big part of your wedding? Keep reading »
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton had one of the most tumultuous celebrity romances of all time. I mean, not so many couples get divorced twice—you know? Elizabeth and Richard first met in 1962 while she played everyone’s favorite lady pharaoh and he took on the role of Marc Antony in “Cleopatra.” They were both married to other people at the time, but their intense chemistry was too much to resist and they began an affair. Two years later, they married. But things weren’t happily ever, as seems pretty obvious when you see them in “Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf?”—it’s like their intense love/hate of each other seemed to ooze off-screen. In 1974, they divorced, only to remarry 16 months later. A year after that, they were dunzo for real.
Elizabeth and Richard’s story was captured in the book Furious Love. And now it has been optioned by Paramount Pictures. Even better, Martin Scorcese is set to direct the pic. Keep reading »
So, it appears that Justin Timberlake and Ashley Olsen may be dating. “They are hooking up,” a bud tells Us Weekly. Apparently, the two have been seen together several times recently—at a “Saturday Night Live” after-party, at the Greenwich Hotel, at a polo match, and at two Broadway shows. Yes, this seems like an odd coupling—but I kind of like it.
After the jump, some things these two have in common.

Let’s all just admit it—Mark-Paul Gosselaar, aka Zack Morris, is the cutest and we’ve all had a crush on him since the days of “Saved by the Bell.” Just this morning, I read that in an interview for Maxim, he was asked what he say if he encountered Becky the Duck in the afterlife. He responded, “This is the place where oil can’t hurt you.” Awwww.
I also read today that Mark-Paul is once again a single man. His divorce from Lisa Ann Russell, an actress he met on the set of “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” has been finalized and they are dunzo after 14 years. I’m sure Mark-Paul is dealing with a lot of mixed feelings at the moment, but we thought we’d take a minute to suggest some people for him to date, when he’s ready to get back out there.
