Halloween has basically been postponed in parts of the East Coast, but luckily many adults got their partying done over the weekend — including these 30 celebs, who got all dressed up for Hollywood’s most elite costume parties. Let’s see what they wore!
I’m sure this squirrel didn’t mean to get its head stuck in this Halloween decoration and scare the ever living crap out of the neighbors. But still, the results were effective. [Humor Train]

These pumpkin flasher people are either totally inappropriate or totally appropriate … depending on your personal approach to Halloween. See more questionable jack-o-lanterns here. [Buzzfeed]
I think the most wonderful thing in the whole wide world is a baby in a wig. I don’t have my own kids, but if I ever do, I will make them wear wigs everyday. Because how can you be annoyed by a kid in a wig? It’s just not possible. Halloween is the time of year that parents everywhere put wigs on their children, which is a real treat for me. I especially like kids who get dressed up as pop/rock stars. Click through to see a few of my favorite minis. I’m still waiting for the trend to catch on year-round.
Looking for a Halloween costume that’s sure to win the Most Adorkable award? Dress up as a twee Hollywood starlet! All you have to do is clip on some bangs, adorn yourself in bows and polka dots, and strum a toy ukulele throughout the night. Bonus: if you play your cards right, you might get to bang Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Halloween parties are a special breed of social gathering. Everyone’s wearing costumes, which makes the whole thing much more exciting (and confusing), plus there’s usually copious amounts of spiked punch to be consumed, “Monster Mash” dancing to do, and cheesy pickup lines to be attempted. Overall, it’s one of the most unpredictable nights of the year. One thing you can always count on, though, is that you’ll meet these nine people on the Halloween party circuit… Keep reading »
The 1993 Disney Halloween comedy “Hocus Pocus” is straight-up one of my favorite movies of all time. I assume everyone has seen it already, but if not, I wouldn’t want to ruin it for you — you just have to watch it, with or without the under-16 audience for which it’s intended. Halloween may be just around the corner, but I’m not spooked to admit that I seek to channel a little bit of “Hocus Pocus” every day of the year (it does star the future Carrie Bradshaw, after all). You can cop the hip witch look, too — just add chunky jewelry and black boots and go, no broomstick required. Keep reading »
If you’re looking for couples’ Halloween costumes that will really get people talking, look no further than the year in pop culture for fodder. I’ve purposefully left Fifty Shades of Grey off the list because I heard that it topped the list of the trendy costumes. And … well, NO. I refuse. We can come up with something else. You don’t need to be Anastasia and Christian. Here are a few other couples’ costume ideas and some tips for how to make them happen.
I only recently discovered the amazing phenomenon that is “Friday Night Lights,” and more specifically, the glorious perfection that is Connie Briton as Tami Taylor. I told Amelia I wanted to be Tami Taylor for Halloween and hopefully win some kind of costume party prize for Least Timely Pop Culture Reference, but then Amelia threatened to dress up as Amelie and steal my crown. Bitch. Anyway, just in case you’re looking for a costume idea that’s neither current (like these internet obsessions) or cheekily retro, but instead falls awkwardly into the pop culture gulch of the past few years, well, click through for some delightfully outdated ideas…
