Wherever there is controversy, Kim Kardashian can be found close nearby whining, “Why are you not paying attention to me?” So naturally when Tanning Mom started grabbing headlines with her baked-to-a-crisp skin, Kim could not handle it. This weekend Kim tweeted a pic of super-tanned self with the headline, “The tannerexic [sic] mom has some serious competition!!! LOL”
But unlike the fake bake loving Tanning Mom, we think Kim at least had enough sense to brown her skin with spray tanner. (Right? Right?!) After the jump, 21 other celebrities who got a little overzealous with the spray tanner, too.
L.A.’s Wango Tango fest gathers together pop stars and music fans for a day of music and fun. Justin Bieber was there, which makes sense, but also “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” trainwreck Taylor Armstrong. Does she even know who Justin Bieber is? There was lots of outrageous/horrible fashion, too, because 1) It’s a festival 2) It’s in Los Angeles. So consider that we’re grading on a curve as you flip through and check out the horror show after the jump!
There was a time not so long ago when famous folk wanted to create the illusion that they were NOT “just like us.” Grace Kelly was never photographed buying jumbo packs of toilet paper! Audrey Hepburn describing where she was the day Aunt Flo first came to visit? HA! Nowadays many female stars, like Jennifer Love Hewitt, are eager to overshare about their private bodily business.
If only JLH had taken a cue from Audrey Hepburn (who she once played in TV movie), we wouldn’t have had to endure news of her vajazzling habits for the last two years. At this point, we’ll never forget that she’s responsible for the ridiculous trend, which involves encrusting one’s pubic area with crystals. But we really wish she would stop talking about it already. At last week’s Upfronts for “The Client List,” she told red carpet reporters that she was vajazzled for the special occasion: “I’m full of good energy [down there]” she told anyone who would listen. Ugh. Make it stop. From bikini waxing and colonics to anal bleaching, here are some other examples of crazy celeb TMI. [Celebitchy]

We knew that pole dancing had gone mainstream when soccer moms started talking about it, and we all remember when Miley Cyrus took a stab at it during the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. Since then, pole dancing continues to seduce women by the truckload. The latest celebrity to express her love for the pole? Emma Watson, who has supposedly taken up pole dancing on the set of “The Bling Ring” to learn how to dance like a stripper. Even though she never thought she’d like it, a source tells the UK’s Sun newspaper that Emma is “amazed with the results because it has toned her body so well [and] finds it quite liberating.” Our little Hermione is growing up! Read on to hear why more stars love the pole. [The Sun UK]
As someone who is some small percentage Gypsy (my mother swears we’re Russian from the Caucaucus mountains), I’m more than a little bit fascinated by Gypsy culture. I’ve watched the UK version of “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” and have been blown away by the elaborate wedding ceremonies Gypsy families participate in, passing off their often very young daughters into marriage. Gypsy communities seem to be tightly knit and in some ways highly traditional (despite the short skirts that many of the young women wear to their friend’s weddings, Gypsy girls are expected to remain very, very chaste until marriage.)
Gypsies aren’t just a European phenomenon, either. A new TLC series documents the similar Gypsy culture in the U.S. — a people who also fight against immense prejudice and stereotypes, who love fiercely and who really seem to love a big, froofry, extravagant wedding dress. Check out the American version of “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” on Sunday nights at 10 pm EST, and check out some of the girl’s wild dresses here.
