GUYS. The “Game of Thrones” finale is THIS WEEKEND. How did the season go by this fast? Why must we wait another year until we get our fix of our favorite Westerosis?
OK, to be fair, I started binge-watching “Game of Thrones” in the beginning of April this year. I’ve been sadly skeptical of the show for the last four years, which I found out was a mistake as soon as I started watching. I’m so addicted that I binged the first three seasons over the course of two weeks and then, not being able to wait a week between episodes, started reading the Song of Ice and Fire series. I’m already halfway through book three. SAVE ME. Keep reading »
I’ve found that it’s surprisingly easy to find clothing and accessories that are up to ethical and sustainable standards, but when it comes to shoes, the pickings are few and far between. There’s certainly stylish, handcrafted, responsibly sourced footwear out there — if you’re willing to spend a minimum of $300 on a pair of shoes — but if your budget is closer to $100 or less, your options dwindle to recycled yoga mat flip flops or … well, that’s pretty much it. Timberland is working to change that with their Earthkeepers line. Made using recycled materials and sourced from factories and tanneries that have shown a commitment to the environment, Earthkeepers are stylish, high quality shoes that you can feel good about buying and wear for years to come. I’m particularly enamored by their summer collection of sandals and espadrilles. Click through to check out 10 of my faves!
Turnips are by no means a glamorous food. They’re a hard root vegetable with a rough, bitter peel that you may only recognize from going to the farmer’s market, picking one up, and saying, “Damn, that is one ugly radish.” But listen up, people: turnips are SO GOOD when prepared correctly, they’re packed full of vitamins and minerals, and they’re a great potato alternative for anyone who’s watching their carb intake. Inspired by my Turnip Sandwich of Dreamz, here are 9 other delicious turnip recipes to convince you to give this humble tuber a try…
I do a lot of bathing suit browsing, but I have yet to replace my worn out swimsuits. Ever notice how some pool decks and bottoms have a grainy finish leaving your swimsuit bottom with a patch of snags? My favorite one piece is suffering from scuffled butt. If you too are in the market for a one-piece, try one of these suits for under $40!
Pink alone is alright, but pink with orange? Now that makes me think of summer! I know what you’re thinking. Uh, don’t orange and pink clash? Yes! But in a good way! How else could a scoop of rainbow sherbet ice cream look so insanely delicious? (Especially right now — I’m going to Baskin-Robbins at lunch.) In this week’s fashion math, I’ll show you nine orange and pink outfits combos that are perfect for summer. Just keep your accessories basic and neutral — not counting the ice cream cone in your hand, of course.
I never would have guessed that combing through stock photography would be such an exciting and enlightening part of my job, but everyday I encounter at least one photograph that teaches me something new about life, love and even my own body. Oh yeah, stock photography is full of wisdom about the vagina — crazy shit your gynecologist probably never told you. For example… [Photos: Shutterstock]
