You know what we could use a little reader feedback on? Poses. I know looking at our outfits every day is terribly interesting on its own, but we’d like to kick it up a notch by making our poses more entertaining. Not all of us are like Ami, for whom posing wacky comes naturally. So, if you could play Tyra for a day and direct our daily outfit photo shoot, how would you like us to pose? (Naked and/or in a gigantic Greek salad are not viable options, FYI.)
Every season, there are a few It Bags that get everyone drooling. Few are actually able to purchase the bag, but most just put it on a mental wish list. But we’ve discovered a way that anyone can have an It Bag without spending a few paychecks. We’ve found seven bags inspired by this season’s It Bags (not knock-offs!), proving that you don’t have to spend a lot to get a chic and on-trend or classic bag.
This past weekend, celebs turned out in droves to honor … a performance artist? Yep, you read that right; instead of the usual self-congratulatory Hollywood crap, stars convened at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles to honor Serbian performance artist Marina Abramovic. Abramovic, along with Debbie Harry, performed at the event, and there was plenty of good, bad and totally out-there fashions (we’re looking at you, Jeremy Scott). Click through to see what we mean.
Colorblocking is a huge trend right now, and for good reason: it’s the perfect antidote to dark winter days. Ready to try it yourself? All you need are two (or more) bright colored solids, worn together for visual impact. Cobalt jeans and a pink sweater, for example. Or a red dress with orange tights. Whether you want to dive into a rainbow outfit or just add some color to your winter wardrobe, we’ve rounded up some bright basics to help you get started. Click through to check ‘em out…
“Immortals” hit theaters today, and in addition to excess male eye-candy and a lackluster plotline, we get to see Freida Pinto’s booty in a steamy scene with Henry Cavill … or at least what appears to be her booty. “It was a butt double. I’m relieved I don’t have to deal with that issue,” she told E! Online. [Just Jared]
Pinto is not alone, be it by choice of morals or vanity, famous stars have opted for body doubles in nude scenes for years. Find out which glorified forms aren’t as authentic as they appear to be.
There are three reasons we reach for knee-high boots when the temperature dips. First, they help keep legs warm. Second, knee-high boots are like the universal shoe, going with pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts. And third, they’re hella chic and sophisticated! Here are 12 of our favorite pairs…
One of the perks of being the editor of The Frisky is that when an important day arrives, like, say, Ryan Gosling‘s 31st birthday, it’s my prerogative to devote an entire slideshow to singing his praises. Hence, 10 photos of my future husband looking breathtakingly hot accompanied by 31 reasons why I am glad he was born 31 years ago. You’re welcome, fellow psychotic Ryan Gosling devotees.
If there’s one place for a celebrity lady to step up her game, it’s on the red carpet. Whenever it’s rolled out, famous faces come out of the woodwork (do they exist when they’re not making public appearances? Important life questions) to show off what they’ve got. Classic, bizarre, avant garde — as we’ve seen, it’s all fair in
love dresses and war. But sometimes, even those who make a million a movie step out of line (and that is a fine line indeed!) and come off looking, well, cheap.
Ah, faux-fur vests. They provide an in-yo-face punch, adding considerable girth, shag and fluff that encapsulate your figure in a BAMF (that’s Bad Ass Mother F**ker) way. Bonus points for their ability to make an outfit while still treading easily between day and night. It’s time to cast your iPhone’s Polaroid photo app aside and truly channel your retro glam-rock essence — dive headfirst into our round-up of the best in faux-fur vests.
Happy 11/11/11! Did you make a wish at 11:11 a.m.? I forgot, but I am going to make a wish at 11:11 p.m. (I don’t believe in military time!). I can’t tell you what it is because I don’t want to jinx it, but here are the letters to the three words, all mixed up: armyr ynar slognig. Click on to see what we’re wearing today!
