Hey, what did you get for Christmas? I got pajamas, fancy towels, and a book on gender! I think that’s pretty great, but the 12 couples in this slideshow probably think their gift was better — they all got engaged over the holidays (i.e. the period between Thanksgiving and New Year’s). There are so many, I thought we should keep a running list cause clearly a trend is afoot. As a formerly engaged on New Year’s Eve person, I am now anti-holiday engagement. But that’s because my engagement ended and I am reminded of that every New Year’s. But I’m glad it worked out that way, so it’s a nice reminder that I’m not married to that guy, but also, I would rather not be reminded of him at all on a holiday, you know? Well, whatever, good luck to these celeb couples who all got engaged during the holiday season! I really don’t mean to be a downer.
The Frisky staff, all together again! Here’s what all four of us are wearing today!
This weekend, the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala was held, honoring actors like Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer, and Glenn Close. But were their outfits as laudable? Let’s find out!
UPDATE: Squee! It’s here! Every single piece from the Jason Wu for Target lookbook is online, so I’ve updated the slideshow. Donations for the “Jessica Wants Every Item In The Jason Wu For Target Collection” now being accepted.
I know what I’m doing at 6 a.m. on February 5: elbowing any bitch that gets in between me and the items I’m obsessed with from the Jason Wu for Target collection. Jason Wu’s new line is inspired by femininity in French New Wave films and you see it everywhere, from the bows to the stripes to the A-line skirts. There’s even a cute kitty named Milu, who Jason Wu has called his muse, appearing in the ad campaign! All the clothes are priced between $10 and $60, which will be good on my wallet after the holidays. Unfortunately, an actual lookbook of Jason Wu for Target has not yet been released; the folks at Tar-jay are being cruel and evil, only leaking out one or two photos at a time. Oh, why do you toy with me?! These are the pics that I’ve found online. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to plot my shopping strategy in case this devolves into Missoni for Target redux.
One awesome cuff bracelet can be as effective an accessory as ten slight, skinny bangles. Behold, 10 thick, totally terrific statement bracelets that do the talking for you.
Al Roker allegedly caused a stir on an American Airlines flight this week when he refused to give up his first-class seat so Alex Van Halen and wife could sit next to each other. What was his excuse? Oh, he claimed it was because he was allergic to dogs and changing seats would put him closer to a passenger traveling with a dog in a crate. Hmmm. Based on this photographic evidence, we’re not so sure that’s true. Then again, poodles are hypoallergenic. It was the Van Halens who saved the day. They quietly moved to business class. How very un-rock n’ roll of them. Why does it seem like famous people always cause the most travel trouble? Read on for a list of other celebrities who’ve had kerfuffles while traveling. [NY Post]
Guys, I’ve had the best week of my life. Just need to share and this “What Are We Wearing Today” intro is my “sharing corner.” First, Courtney Stodden liked my floor-flashing photo. Then I discovered the next guest for my dream celebrity dinner party, Alana from “Toddlers & Tiaras” (she would sit next to Paz de la Huerta, and across from Courtney Stodden and Phaedra Parks). Then I found out that I am going to meet Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb, my favorite tipsy TV hosts. And I just interviewed Ezra Miller from “We Need To Talk About Kevin” for a Q&A going up next week, and he was lovely and smart. Basically, 2012 is off to an awesome start. How was your week?
Oh yeah, and here’s what we’re wearing today…

Well, I’m home sick — which I’m sure has nothing to do with exposing my bare feet and ankles to the frigid temperatures yesterday — and Jessica apparently is not impressed enough with her outfit to pose for What Are We Wearing. But Julie is back and Ami is here! And I, committed to bringing you the facts about how us Frisky ladies dress on a daily basis, took a photo of myself in my sick clothes and no makeup. Things are about to get REAL.
