George Clooney and Ryan Gosling put on their fanciest suits and cutest grins for last night’s premiere of “Ides of March,” but I believe there were less friendly feelings afoot. Above, The Gosling pranks the notorious jokester by doodling a mustache on his side of their movie poster. Keep clicking to see how I imagine this went over with Clooney — and whether they worked it out in the end.
We’re loving slate grey for fall. A darker, richer grey than usual, slate grey is a kicky alternative to basic black. Check out these 10 great slate options after the jump!
Fashion’s glitterati turned out earlier this week for the opening of the Gucci Museum in Florence, Italy. Honoring all things Gucci, the museum serves as a tribute to the Italian design house’s esteemed vision and sartorial genius. But were the opening night attendees as well-tailored as the clothing in the museum? Let’s take a look.
One of my favorite things about traveling to a foreign country is discovering the local cuisine. Yes, of course I mean going to fun restaurants — from fancy, upscale places to out of the way dives — but I also like to hit up the nearest convenience store and ogle their selection of Doritos. (Truth be told, I was almost as excited about the array of Doritos being sold at the snack shop outside the Mayan ruins in Tulum as I was about the actual scenery inside.) Did you know that Doritos have been around since 1964 and there have been over 100 varieties sold all over the world? I found all this out last night, as I read about the news that the founder of Doritos, Arch West, had died and was going to be buried with his iconic chips. One story that came across my newsfeed: 102 Doritos Flavors From Around The World. Despite my travels, there were so many I had no idea about, including a few that whet my appetite – Atomic Chile Limon? Yes please! — but way more that made my stomach heave. Here are the 16 flavors of Doritos that excited and repulsed me at the same time. [Now That's Nifty]
When it comes to fashion, Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour is probably the most powerful woman in the world. It’s not just that she commands the pages of one of the most-loved fashion mags, or that she conceived and developed Fashion’s Night Out, it’s that she oversees the Council of Fashion Designer of Americas Fund, which supports emerging young designers. To win Wintour’s discerning approval is akin to being granted the keys to the fashion kingdom, and what she says absolutely goes on the pages of Vogue and beyond. So, we thought we’d take a moment to examine Wintour’s personal sartorial musings. How does the Queen of All Clothing actually dress? What can we learn from her style rules?
Some folks aren’t keen on plastic surgery to begin with. (Raises hand.) Other folks need a little negative reinforcement to remind them that getting sliced up by Dr. 90210 is not a decision to be made lightly. If you are considering plastic surgery of any kind, take a long, hard look at these six botched plastic surgeries and ask yourself, “Am I willing to join this slideshow?” And that goes double for you, Human Barbie Dolls!
Let’s talk about nipples — specifically celebrity nipples freeing themselves from the confines of celebrity wardrobes. It happens all time! Usually we ogle and move on but sometimes unfortunate combinations of wardrobe, setting, and nipple make us want to wash our eyes out with bleach. When Nancy Grace’s nip made a guest appearance on “Dancing With the Stars,” we saw it … but we wish we hadn’t. “When we were doing our hopscotch portion of our dance, there was a little bit of movement but it did not rise to a wardrobe malfunction,” she told Entertainment Weekly. Sorry, Nancy, there was full nip exposure. The truth hurts. But it’s better than denial. Click through to see some celeb nip slips that made us feel uncomfie. [NY Post] Keep reading »
It’s that time of year when the air is crisper, the leaves are changing colors, and we’re mad for plaid. Few patterns evoke the autumn season like plaid and we’re determined to stay chic with these 12 perfectly patterned fashions.
Oh those silly celebrities. Recently, we have noticed so many famous ladies winking at the camera. Now in a few cases—like for Kate Beckinsale and Lindsay Lohan—the pose looks beautiful. But in most cases, it turns a person into a wonky faced one-eyed ogre. Seriously, winking at the camera can even make a supermodel look bizarre. Here’s hoping that after seeing this, folks put the kabosh on the popular facial posturing.
How can you tell George Costanza is entering a room? From the little bit of light shining off his bald spot. Sure, it might not be the most desirable characteristic, but it made the otherwise-horrible George slightly endearing. So we were kind of shocked when, last week, actor Jason Alexander showed up to an event … with a full head of hair. The thing is, we know Jason in his natural state. And so can assume he must have done Hair Club For Men or some such thing. And still, with hair, he just doesn’t look right. [The Daily What]
This got me thinking—some guys are just meant to be bald. When they grow in hair, it just looks wrong. After the jump, prime examples.
