Beer goggles: Make ugly people look prettier.
Japanese wrinkle goggles: Make ugly people look uglier, normal people look uglier.
The last completely insane anti-aging treatment we heard about was the vampire facelift, a creepy process involving facial blood injections, but now these “wrinkle goggles” make just about any beauty treatment seem legit in comparison. Keep reading »
You can thank the “Mad Men” episode about Pond’s Cold Cream for reminding us of an era when advertising appealed directly to a stereotyped female psyche. As Freddy says about Pond’s: “If young girls started using it, maybe they’d find a husband and they wouldn’t be so angry … if you use Pond’s you’ll get married.” We’re thinking the folks at Lanvin drew inspiration from Sterling Cooper Draper Price, as their new fragrance “Marry Me!” is anything but subtle, cutting right to the chase with its white dress-clad model and company. Ladies, buy this perfume, and your guy will propose. Gag. [Fragrantica] Keep reading »
Tweezing is way too painful to be glamorous or pampering. But if you add a little Betsey Johnson to the experience, you can at least feel fabulous while you pluck. Betsey has teamed up with Tweezerman to create the Betsey Johnson Slant Tweezer Collection. Choose from three options: black with a “Marilyn” face, neon pink with white skulls, or white with pink rosebuds. Today is the day to start plucking in style.
One of life’s little pleasures: spritzing yourself with your perfume, the one that you’ve really adopted as your smell. The problem with this is that perfumes are generally expensive (unless you somehow enjoy dousing yourself in Eau de Britney each day). After wearing the relatively affordable Ralph by Ralph Lauren scent since my teenage years, I recently came across a fragrance I absolutely fell in love with—Byredo’s “Blanche.” But at $200 a bottle, it’s not something I’m going to drop down for. So instead, I’ve savored my itty bitty samples and feared the day of the last drop. My prayers, however, have been answered: The Perfumed Court is a service that decants scents and repackages them into 1-15 ml spray bottles and roll-ons. You’ll find top brands like Pucci, Chanel, and Jo Malone, along with lower-level names like Fresh or even … Paris Hilton. In case you just want to give that a try. [The Perfumed Court] Keep reading »
Kiehl’s addicts a) don’t travel without their Kiehl’s, and b) never want to waste a drop of it. We often find that while those generic mini-containers you can get to transfer shampoo into are a good idea, we end up wasting the product in the process (it spills over the sides and there’s residue left in the bottle). That’s why we figure that stocking up on Kiehl’s mini-sized goods is actually more resourceful in the long run. Rejoice! You can get all your favorite of the brand’s basics—Amino Acid Shampoo, Creme de Corps, Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Conditioner—in perfectly portioned 2.5 oz. bottles or tubes.
Come September 10, we won’t be painting the town red during Fashion’s Night Out. Rather, we’ll be painting it khaki thanks to Chanel‘s special trio of nail polishes created in honor of the event. Looks like Chanel is positioning itself as the taste maker for nail polish trends (thank you for the gray and jade suggestions, we’re all about them) because these earthy hues are both innovative and excellent for fall. And of course, the perfect FNO souvenir! [Teen Vogue] Keep reading »
