Zergnet: Simply Irresistible
Profile for Winona Dimeo-Ediger
This may be one of the unlikeliest Unlikely Style Inspirations ever, because as fans of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” know, the character Charlie Kelly is an illiterate bartender who favors ripped thermal underwear and snacks on cat food. But as crazy as it sounds, there’s something endearing about this strange little man, and–dare I say it–something inspiring about his wardrobe of military jackets, scuffed up boots, beanies, and random graphic t-shirts. After the jump, a selection of apparel and accessories inspired by one of the weirdest dudes on TV… Keep reading »
My friend Molly has a wardrobe many young professionals would envy. She works at Banana Republic, and consequently has a closet full of stylish, classy pieces purchased at a heavy discount. Whenever we hang out she looks polished and put together. A couple weeks ago, we were out Christmas shopping and Molly picked up a skater-style Volcom hoodie, clutched it to her bosom and said, “I never buy stuff like this because all I do is work and I have nowhere to wear it.” This got me thinking about how much our jobs can affect our personal style… Keep reading »
Earlier this month Frisky staffers shared the stories of the worst gifts we’ve ever received. When we read the horrifying/hilarious bad gift stories from our readers, we had to share those too. But what about the best gifts we’ve ever received? I’ll never forget one birthday when I was in high school–my brother secretly asked all my friends, family, and teachers to write notes to me and then stapled them all together in a little book titled “Why We Love Winona.” So awesome. A non-nostalgic close second? The thermal pants my aunt got me for Christmas last year. Whenever I wear them (pretty much every night) I feel cozy and grateful. Read on for a few stories from Frisky staffers, and please share your own best gift stories in the comments!
We included skinny cargo pants on our list of trends we hope die in 2011 for good reason, but these cargo leggings deserve a separate shout-out of their own. The combination of skintight spandex and lumpy thigh pockets not only creates a supremely unflattering silhouette, it also encourages the wearing of leggings as pants (another trend that made our list). For shame! [$176, Shopbop] Keep reading »
Dear Jeans Designers,
The other day I was standing in line at the grocery store and for no particular reason at all I had a flashback to a few years ago when super low-rise jeans were all the rage. Every rack at every store from Forever 21 to J.Jill was stocked with nothing but thong-baring jeans with 3-inch crotches. As an Italian girl with an ample belly, this was a very dark time for me… Keep reading »
Check out these “broken heart” shorts from Urban Outfitters. They retail for $180 and feature black heart-shaped pockets on the front and back, which could easily be mistaken for either angel wings or crab claws, depending on your mood. Read on to see our Man Panel’s candid reactions to this unique look …

When I first met my boyfriend he was wearing pristine white Adidas sneakers. I punched him in the shoulder and said, “Hey, what’s up with your shoes?” He asked me what I meant. “I’ve never seen shoes that clean,” I said. “I don’t trust people with shoes that clean.” He pointed at a tiny smear of dirt near the toe and said, “They’re not that clean.” I don’t really remember how or why we ended up getting together after this, but I can tell you that those suspiciously clean sneakers were a real stumbling block (to be fair, my propensity for punching strangers probably didn’t help). You know what would have been a preferable footwear choice? Boots — the dirtier the better. Here are my top five reasons why … Keep reading »
It seems like with each passing year, the winter boot offerings get crazier and crazier. Isn’t it about time to honor the accomplishments of the craziest of them all?
