Wes Anderson’s Guide To Love

Wes Anderson's Guide To Love

As a self-proclaimed Wes Anderson junkie, I couldn’t wait to take a peek at the just-released trailer for his latest film, “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” In what looks to be another classic from the famed director, the romance between lobby boy Zero (Tony Revolori) and Saoirse Ronan’s Agatha is reminiscent of the young sweethearts in last year’s “Moonrise Kingdom.” Set in the ’60s on a New England island, that film follows Suzy and Sam, troubled preteens who write love letters to each other before deciding to run away together. The young star-crossed lovers at the center of the camp-themed coming-of-age film really just melt your heart.

Wes’s films always incorporate a romantic coupling, exes, or a love triangle, and the characters involved are usually full of witty advice and observations on relationships. So until we see how Zero and Agatha’s love story plays out in “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” let’s look back at the couples and ex-couples from Wes movies along with their lines on love’s redeeming, disappointing, and confusing qualities. Read more on Tres Sugar…

Signs We’re Just A Bunch Of Witches

Signs We're Just A Bunch Of Witches

“Hocus Pocus” is 20 years old this year! And even though I was a kid when the film originally came out — before Sarah Jessica Parker had even stepped foot in Carrie’s Manolos — I’m not ashamed to admit that rewatching the Halloween classic is still one of my favorite Fall rituals. The Sanderson Sisters were more naughty than nice, but if there’s anything they taught us, it’s that we’re all a little witchy. I’ve rounded up some of the most bewitching GIFs from the film to illustrate how we have more in common with the broom-wielding women than we might admit. What are you waiting for? Work, witch. Read more on Tres Sugar…

We already took a look inside sex rehab clinics to find out what to expect when you’re reforming, but here are seven facts about sex addiction you might not have been aware of already. Read more at Tres Sugar…

The Best Long-Distance Relationship Tips From Those Who’ve Been There

Many of us, myself included, have gone down the dreaded LDR (long-distance relationship) path with a significant other. Not being able to experience daily rituals together, go out on dates, and just wake up next to each other — not to mention the physical part — can test even the strongest of bonds. And don’t even get me started on the tearful airport goodbyes. That said, there are actually scientifically proven benefits of LDRs. A recent study found that couples separated by distance reported more intimacy than those who live close to each other thanks to more meaningful communication and idealizing their partners’ behaviors (you forget that your boyfriend always leaves the sink full of dirty dishes when he’s not around). There are all kinds of cliché dating “rules” that get tossed around in conversation, but are they really worth following?
