Our worst nightmare? Stretching out on our bed with the latest Mr. Frisky, asking for a foot massage, and seeing his face turn green. Sure it’s a long running joke that people’s feet smell, but the laugh’s on you when sweaty socks or old slippers turn your toes rancid. Instead of asking your pedicurist to add an air freshener to your foot soak, follow our simple steps to scentless tootsies. Keep reading »
Last week, we asked you to share your style advice in exchange for an Anna Beck Designs Kecil necklace. Everyone can benefit from a little help in the fashion department, and you guys wrote up some awesome tips that’ll help us get dressed in the morning, but bellarose‘s comment was our favorite:
Don’t wear anything you wouldn’t want to be caught in an accident or disaster wearing. You never know what could happen during your day. Always look and feel your best! Your apartment could catch on fire and the only clothes you would be left with would be the ones you are wearing — hope you’re looking cute and comfy!
Thanks for commenting, and don’t forget to enter this week’s contest! Keep reading »
We love high-end products as much as the next girl, but we hate paying full price. That’s where HauteLook comes in. The private sale site (don’t worry, anyone can join) offers deals — up to 75 percent off — on some of the biggest names in beauty, fashion, and home. We’ll keep ourselves looking pretty with products by the likes of Kiehl’s, Go Smile, Elizabeth & James, and BCBG, and splurge on something else, like a beach vacation. [HauteLook]
WIN THIS! We’re giving away an HauteLook tote filled with goodies, including a Baby Quasar Light Therapy Device (pictured) and a $50 gift card, but you have to work if you want it. In the comments, tell us your best beauty tip by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner on Friday, April 2. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!

Since we met Patti Stanger a mere two years ago, we’ve fallen in love with Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker.” We don’t always agree with the advice she doles out Tuesdays at 9 p.m., but her brutal honesty is irresistible — even if it requires her to say some harsh words about a girl’s hair, or give an overly confident dude a dose of reality. As Patti’s business has grown, so has her staff. Destin Pfaff started off as the office manager of the Millionaire’s Club (a job he found on Craigslist), but he’s moved on to bigger and better things. Not only is Destin now the COO of the company, but he’s also the most successful male matchmaker Patti’s ever had.
And now’s your chance to ask Destin anything. Do you want love advice? Are you curious about the man himself? Tell us what you’d like us to ask Destin, and we’ll pick our three favorite questions for him to answer. Keep reading »
New York Methodist Hospital OBGYN Josine Veca has seen it all. Here she tells The Frisky why she decided to pursue medicine and what to expect if you’re considering a career caring for women’s health.
The Frisky: Why did you choose to become an OBGYN?
Dr. Josine Veca: I love it. I guess it came as a result of working for an inner city hospital and doing baby deliveries left and right. I had a lot of empathy and compassion for my patients and it was nice seeing those kids again over the years. I like taking care of people. I get to go to other countries to do medical work. It’s a great field. It’s a life-giving field. My older sister is a social worker who works with people who are close to dying. It’s an interesting contrast. Keep reading »
The Body Shop has long backed good causes — remember last year’s safe sex lip balm? — and this month the company launched a new campaign in an effort to raise awareness about the sex trafficking of children and young people. Through its LemonAid effort, The Body Shop will donate $15,000 to organizations working to stop sex trafficking, and we can’t think of a better cause.
The LemonAid campaign coincides with the debut of The Body Shop’s new Sweet Lemon line. Made with lemon seed oil from fruit handpicked on the Italian Riviera (how glamorous!), these bath and body products should keep you and your skin refreshed with lots of anti-oxidants, vitamin C, and a fresh citrus scent.
WIN THIS! We’re giving away a set of Sweet Lemon products from The Body Shop, but you have to work if you want it. In the comments, tell us your best tip for waking up in the morning by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner on Friday, April 2. You must live in the U.S. or Canada to win. Good luck!
UPDATE: The winner is bexbales for this comment:
I keep two spoons in the freezer. While I am waiting for my coffee to brew in the morning I press the cold spoons to my eyes. Literally no matter how sleep deprived I am, the cool sensation wakes me right up and any trace of puffiness or dark circles disappears. I always end up looking fully energized!
