It’s Oedipus meets high school pep rally in this story from Rosemont High School in Minnesota. As part of a traditional prank in conjunction with the pep rally, respective team captains were blindfolded and told they had to guess the mystery person who was to kiss them. The kicker: it was their parent. I’m sorry, innocent peck or not, I would be mortified if I removed my blind fold and saw my mom or dad standing there. Apparently the video has been edited to seem more intense than the actual lighthearted event.
A pro-choice organization boldly named The Abortion Gang began a personal pledge that has turned into a unique funding project — they’re urging fans of the Denver Broncos to make a donation to pro-choice groups every time star player Tim Tebow scores a touchdown. The reason behind the idea, coined “10 for Tebow,” is a little unconventional — Tim Tebow is notoriously pro-life. He’s even made a commercial with his mother in support of the organization Focus on the Family, a non-profit that is devoutly pro-life, anti-homosexual, anti-gay marriage, and against all sex education that goes beyond abstinence-only counseling. Today in facepalms: a chain of Christian bookstore called LifeWay are pulling copies of the Here’s Hope Breast Cancer Bible from their shelves after it learned that one of the organizations benefiting from the sales is Planned Parenthood. The bible is produced by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and $1 from each sale is donated to non-profit organizations that provide help breast cancer sufferers. Of course, Planned Parenthood is one of them. In fact, to assume that Planned Parenthood — the most well known non-profit sexual health clinics in the country — would not be among them was naive. A video of Angelina Jolie at age 16 has surfaced online. Clad in a tiny orange bandeau, young Angie is just as you would expect her. She’s breathtakingly gorgeous, but she’s still just a kid — albeit a self-assured, inherently cool one. She rocks, gestures and stretches wildly in her chair as she explains her interests (and eccentricities). In addition to giving the 411 on her boxing and fencing classes, she details her growing sword collection — the building blocks for what she hopes will become her weapon room.
