We've got a flowchart for that. Read More »

Summer is just around the corner! Hair removal season has begun! In our “Getting Smooth Survival Guide,” we’ll be testing out various ways to defuzz your body parts, if defuzzing is something you choose to do. (No judgement if you’re happily rocking body hair. Do you, girl.)

Since I’ve literally got the sparsest eyebrows ever (they don’t grow, at all, I’ve tried), every four or five months I’ll decide that I need to go in for a threading session to clean up all the baby-fine, white-blond fuzz surrounding my brows. Because my body hair is very blond, it pretty much isn’t visible, so I mostly don’t bother to do anything about it. I consider myself lucky in that way—and what I don’t spend on waxes and constant facial hair upkeep I make up for with bi-monthly trips to my colorist — and the hefty bills that come with. Lily Donaldson Shows You How To Work Your Hair Like A Supermodel

Ever wonder what two seconds of footage of Lily Donaldson whipping her long blond head of hair, while simultaneously being hit with four wind machines, and slowed down to 1,000 frames per second, would look like? Yeah? Maybe? This is your lucky day, my friend. Check out Lily’s flying hair. Is it just me, or is it seriously mesmerizing? “Using the super-high definition Phantom Gold HD—a camera initially developed for monitoring missile flights—Donaldson distills a hyper-real tranquility.” Tranquility, indeed. Anne Hathaway’s Strong Brow And Eye: Does It Work?

Last night, the celebs turned out in droves for the world premiere of the Tim/Burton/Johnny Depp movie “Alice in Wonderland” in London. Check out the always red-carpet-chic Anne Hathaway. Quick, what’s the first thing you notice? If you’re me, it’s her seriously strong brows (that’s a lot of brow pencil/shadow at work) and equally major eye makeup. Personally, I’m not a fan. While I love that almost all of the fall shows have featured a strong eyebrow look, the Fashion Week makeup artists also took care to only overdo the brow. They didn’t play up anything else on the face, and that’s the key. (The key Anne missed in her makeup.) What say you? It’s a powerful look, for sure, but a little too overpowering … Keep reading »

Send A Little Green In The Mail

A postcard + pop-up card + garden = Postcarden! It’s pretty much just that, but also a completely unusual way to send along a little big of greenery. Each comes with a packet of cress seeds—add water and watch the seeds grow—and choose between three models: botanical, city, and allotment. The mini-gardens last about two weeks, and the cress is totally edible. It’s currently only available in the UK, but it is making it’s way to us very soon. In the meantime, check out the adorable video of how it works, after the jump … Keep reading »

Selma Blair Does The Bowl-Bob

Selma Blair was spotted at The Gap yesterday with a brand-new haircut. Look quickly and it appears to be a very Anna Wintour-esque bob. But if you look a bit closer, her hair is reminiscent of Agyness Deyn‘s bowl cut, too. I’m nicknaming it the “bowl-bob.” Check out the fringe cut down the front sides; her bangs are gradually blending into the length of her hair with a series of layers or fringe. Feeling her look? Ask your stylist for a bob with a thick bang and long layers for movement and to decrease the weight on your hair so it doesn’t fall flat. Then tell him/her you want to blend your bangs into the rest of the do—ask him to cut front fringe à la a bowl cut. Keep reading »

Booty Parlor Sexes Up Vegas (More Than Usual)

Just in case you couldn’t find enough sexy times during your weekend binge in Vegas, the naughty-raunchy beauty and lifestyle brand Booty Parlor has opened up its very own pink-and-black shop in the Wynn hotel shopping esplanade. Looking for a little kinky help before hitting up that drive-thru chapel? Booty Parlor can help — stocked with beauty products, romantic treats, toys, accessories, lingerie (lots of the aforementioned pink and black), and the company’s signature LoveKits (i.e., “The Ultimate Date Night Experience” kit for $199, “The Sexy Mama Experience” for $119, and “The Sexy Bombshel Experience” running you $89) — there’s something for, well, everyone. And if you’re more interested in room service, they can send a licensed bootician (that’s not a typo) to your room armed with sexy lotions, potions, massage oils, and assorted “toys.” It’s the sexy Avon lady calling! Uber-Easy Flower Arranging From Erin Fetherston

Serious spring fever hitting lately. I can’t wait to wear filmy, silky dresses and striped flat espadrilles, braid my won’t-grow-fast-enough hair to the side, and fill my teeny apt with loads of bright and cheery flowers. I’ve got most of my spring prep done (got these striped espadrilles the other day), and I plan on stealing this flower “tub” arrangement idea from designer Erin Fetherston‘s Paris apartment. It should be relatively easy to do. Get a giant, round and squat vase. Look for flowers that aren’t too pricey with big blossoms (I love peonies from my corner deli). Cut the stems so the blossoms ever so slightly peek above the rim of the vase. Stand flowers up in the water-filled vase, the more the better, and keep it natural by avoiding over-pruning. The best part about this look? The arrangement gets better as the flowers open up. Look at Erin’s almost-past-their-prime stems. [This Is Glamorous] Keep reading »

Behind The Scenes: Jessica Stam And Terry Richardson For Aldo

Fashion is hard work, people! (Have you seen “Kell on Earth”?) Well, maybe not if you happen to be Jessica Stam modeling for photog Terry Richardson. Check out the behind-the-scenes goings-on at the Aldo spring/summer photo shoot. Not only is there a lip couch, disco ball, and ceramic leopard, but Aldo’s got some seriously cute heels set to come out this spring. More fashion-hard-at-work shots of Jessica, after the jump … Keep reading »

Acne Does Furniture

The Swedish creative agency Acne (you may already know them for their indie fashions and jeans) has unveiled its first furniture collection. Inspired by the company’s Swedish roots, they took a classic sofa design by Swede Carl Malmsten and literally stretched, squashed, and pulled it. The line features totally cool-looking pieces, even if they don’t seem to register on the comfy-meter. Check out the whole collection, after the jump! Keep reading »

Hilarious Fashion Arithmetic!

Snuffleupagus + Rambo = a Pringle of Scotland, pre-fall 2010 RTW look? Silicone breast implants + a pill pack = a look from the Armani Privé spring 2010 couture show? Does Dracula + hand soap = a dress-coat combo from Chanel spring 2010? Yes, if you go to Fashematics, a totally clever and hilarious website devoted to breaking down and identifying the inspirations behind fashion—and not the way a designer would. You get a “so-right” chuckle with every post, proof that sometimes, c’mon, fashion shouldn’t be taken that seriously. [Fashematics] Keep reading »
