Zergnet: Simply Irresistable
Profile for Lindsay A.
When Ryan Gosling isn’t busy starring in critically acclaimed films like “Drive,” “Crazy Stupid Love,” and “Blue Valentine,” or rushing off to stop street fights over amateur art, he’s leading a one man war. A war against what, you ask? Socks. For the last few months, as he’s jetted to and fro to promote the aforementioned flicks and settled in to his new home of NYC, Ryan has shunned socks in favor of bare ankles. (What? I’ve always been known for my attention to detail, so of course I’ve noticed.) Personally, Ryan Gosling association aside, I am a fan of this look on a man especially when coupled with a dandy-looking suit or slim-cut pants. Nothing ruins a man’s outfit like the sight of stark white socks garishly blinding you below the cuff of his pants. I’m not sure The Gos can maintain this particular trend through the cold East Coast winter, so bookmark this slideshow, featuring eight photos of Ryan taunting womankind with his bare ankles!
I didn’t sleep well last night and then Lucca barfed all over my comforter this morning (she’s fine, I think she just had a tummy ache), so I decided to work from home. With Ami off for the day and Julie working from home as well, it was looking like it might be a dull day in the office for Jessica and Kate and unlikely we would do a “What Are Wearing Today” slideshow. But Kate and Jess gathered a couple behind-the-scenes Frisky staffers and peer-pressured them into joining the style parade. Click on to find out what they are wearing today!
Happy Thursday, everyone! One more day until the weekend — don’t you just love a short week? I think we should have three day weekends once a month. Keep clicking to see what we’re wearing today…
This morning, on my way to work at the bright-eyed hour of 8 a.m., I was joined in the elevator by one of the long and lithe fashion models that live in my apartment building. I don’t see them that often, as they tend to keep odder hours than my usual nine-to-five. I wonder why she’s up to early? I wondered, covertly starring (up) at her as the floors ticked downward. Her face was scrubbed free of makeup and she was thumbing through an appointment book. Oh wait! Duh. It’s fashion week, I recalled. I had blocked it out sort of. I very much love clothes, but I am not particularly fond of discussing them in great depth, which is why I “read” Luckylike a picture book. And that is exactly how we are going to be presenting some of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections being shown at New York Fashion Week; pithy intros plus photos of pretty clothes! First up is BCBG, a line that is actually kind of sort of affordable for us non-rich types. Three things I love about this collection:
- The colors: Lime! Lemonade! Cerulean! (I think?)
- The prints: The Missoni-esque stripes are lovely, but I’m especially obsessed with the mix of more “ethnic” prints with architectural color-blocking.
- The open shoulders: I’m sorry, but who doesn’t have gorgeous shoulders? This trend is something I can get behind because it would flatter everyone.
That, my friends, is as “fashion talk-y” as I am going to get today. Click onward to see a bunch of the looks from the BCBG Spring/Summer 2012 runway show!
Rosie O’Donnell is back on the TV scene, hosting a new talk show on OWN, and she promises she’s left her inner rage-a-holic behind. In a recent interview, she opened up about her anger issues. “You know, I think I had a lot more rage than I was aware of … But I’ve gotten back access to my other feelings. I’m not cut off from my emotions anymore … The rage has gone away … There’s been a healing,” she revealed in O Magazine. So what put an end to her anger jags? Rosie claims her estrogen levels were so low that she was unable to function normally. She says stabilizing her hormones soothed the savage beast. Very interesting. Maybe this tip will help other angry ladies. [People]
