Would You Wear Super-Complicated Underwear?

For some of us (by which I mean me), mustering up the energy to wear a thong is no small task. The whole dental floss in the arse thing just feels a little unnecessary, amiright? So when I saw this picture, I kind of got exhausted just looking at it. Straps, lace, mesh, clasps, what? Is all of that really necessary? Is it even all that attractive? Would you wear underwear this complicated? [Fashion Copious] Keep reading »

Diesel’s “Be Stupid” Ads Banned In Britain

Some of Diesel‘s ever-annoying “Be Stupid” campaign posters have been banned in Britain for fear that they’ll inspire bad behavior in local kiddies. Frankly, we’re spitefully pleased to see the campaign — which reminds us that “stupid is the best idea smart ever had” (whaa?) — cut down a bit. The entire campaign wasn’t removed, but a take-down notice has been mandated for some of the racier, dumber images, like a girl flashing a security camera and displaying side boob. Also under fire is an ad featuring a woman photographing her private parts while walking through tall grass in her underwear as a hungry-looking lion lurks. Sorry Diesel, but this is what you get for being morons. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Miu Miu Inspired By Jodie Foster’s “Taxi Driver” Look?

Is it just us, or do the models in Miu Miu’s Resort 2011 campaign look suspiciously like teenage hookers? We’re a little bit in love with the shoes, but the whole mommy’s makeup, too-much-jewelry, Jodie Foster in “Taxi Driver” thing makes us feel a little awkward. [Fashion Copious] Keep reading »

Naomi Campbell To Testify In War Trial

Naomi Campbell, no stranger to courtroom appearances, will be testifying in a trial for someone other than her rage-y self, it seems. Former Liberian President Christopher Taylor is on trial for 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity and Campbell is being called to testify at the trial. According to actress Mia Farrow, Campbell herself said that Taylor gave her an uncut diamond at a party at Nelson Mandela’s house in 1997. Given that one of the charges against Taylor is that he armed rebels in return for diamonds mined by children, The Trial Chamber thought it reasonable to call on Campbell to testify. Looks like that rock wasn’t quite the freebie Naomi thought it was. [Vogue UK] Keep reading »

Model Shannan Click And Train Wreck Lindsay Lohan Separated At Birth?

Model Shannan Click’s bronzer-heavy Vogue cover looks so much like Lindsay Lohan that we did a double take. The wavy blond hair, fedora-lovin’ and excessive eyeliner all have us a little nervous that Lindsay is about to announce her new career as a high-fashion stylist, in which case we’ll all have to move to some remote place far, far away from magazines. Ideas, anyone? [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

lover dress 62910 jpg
It’s literally a thousand degrees outside and, most of the time, it feels like I’m walking through syrup. But in a bad way that doesn’t involve pancakes or waffles, just pain. In this festering pile of heat-induced misery, there is but one bright light: summer sale time. Most notably, luxury e-Mecca Net-A-Porter has new markdowns on hundreds of designer goodies we’d happily sacrifice our hypothetical future firstborns for. OK, maybe not. But almost. Click through for my top 10. And try not to drool on your computers, you heathens. [$283.50, Lover, Net-A-Porter.com]

Beauty Test Drive: Make Up Forever HD Concealer

In our ongoing efforts to find the ideal concealer for these hot months, we gave Make Up Forever’s HD concealer wand a try. We were impressed by the smooth feel, oil-free aspect and the fact that it left us neither dry nor slippery. Our only gripe with the stuff is that you have to be very careful about the quantity you use because if you go a little bit overboard, you’ll start looking chalky. A built-in incentive not to overdo it with the makeup may not be such a bad thing, though. [$28, Make Up Forever, Sephora] Keep reading »
