This Month In Lady Mags: Starting Anew In January

So it is almost 2011 and it is time to accept that. The lady mags have already done it, ringing in January earlier than the rest of us. And it looks like they must have made some New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, because all the issues have slimmed down this month. We’re talking about almost comic book proportions. That means it is extra important that you read on and check out which reduced-size mag is worth your cash. Because no one wants to start the new year by spending foolishly. Keep reading »

10 Celebs Share Who They Want To Play Them In Their Biopic

Kylie Minogue has had a movie-worthy life between the soap operas, the locomotion, a comeback, and a battle with cancer. But it would probably be best, if said film is ever made, for Kylie to stay out of the casting process. When the singer was asked who she would want to play her in a film, Minogue offered, “I’ve been told Hilary Duff resembles me. If she could manage to lose the American accent perhaps that would work.” Erm, I mean I enjoyed “Lizzie McGuire” as much as the next person, but Duff isn’t the shiniest star Hollywood has to offer. Though I will say the resemblance is there. [Huffington Post]

“Family Matters’” Darius McCrary & 4 More Formerly Famous Actors Accused Of Abuse Or Worse

Former actor Darius McCrary, who played Eddie Winslow on “Family Matters,” was recently served with a restraining order. The legal action was the result of abuse accusations by his ex-wife Karrine Steffans. Steffans claims that McCrary beat her with a belt in front of her son and that this was not the first time he has harmed her. Currently, Darius is not allowed within a 100-feet of his wife, and she is looking to make the restraining order permanent with upcoming court appearances. [Huffington Post]

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a former actor has been accused of abuse later in life. Read on to see what past stars are sadly spending more time in court than on the screen. Keep reading »

A New Take On “Something Blue”

I was hoping that “Avatar” fever had died down, but Wu Lingyuan, China, is keeping it alive. This region contains the mountain ranges in the movie, and enterprising citizens have found a way to turn that into dollar signs by offering “Avatar” wedding packages. The view is gorgeous, but takers are a little less excited about the Na’vi provided. As one recent bride explained, “The Na’vi were a couple of forestry workers dressed up in long underwear dyed blue wearing some very unconvincing masks. It was really pathetic.” Lucky for us, she had the picture to back it up. [/Film] Keep reading »

10 Stars Who Say “No” To Going Under The Knife

no surgery angelina jolie jpg
Angelia Jolie is genetically gifted in the beauty department, I’m guessing thanks to her mom. (No offense, Jon Voight.) Apparently, Jolie understands what she’s got, because she is planning on letting nature do the work on her features—not a plastic surgeon. Angelina shared, “I haven’t had anything done and I don’t think I will, but if it makes somebody happy then that’s up to them. I’m not in somebody else’s skin to know what makes them feel better about themselves. But I don’t plan to do it myself.” My theory: I think Angelina’s face just repels scalpels. [Huffington Post]

Other stars have spoken out against getting augmented. See which celebs are, and plan to stay, plastic surgery-free.
