Sex worker Laura Lee is fighting to overturn a new legislation in Northern Ireland that would criminalize those who wish to buy sex. Essentially they are trying to adopt the Scandinavian model which many feminist activists claim is bad for the lives of sex workers. The law will essentially force consensual sex work further underground,…

New good TV show alert! Snoop Dogg announced at SXSW that he is working on a new series for HBO that will be about the effects of Reagan's politics and economics on real American families in and around the early 1980s. I'm personally very psyched about this, since I am in the midst of binge…

Twitter Is Facing Gender Discrimination Class Action Lawsuit On Its 9th Birthday

Happy Birthday Twitter, your senior management staff is a sexist boys club! Like most tech firms in Silicon Valley, Twitter is no exception in partaking in the frat-like "no women allowed" mentality. This is not for lack of trying, as many women have tried to get into more upper-management roles, only to be shunned and…

Indian Student Drags Molester To Police By His Hair

When 20-year-old Mumbai student Pradnya Mandhare was molested and manhandled by a severely intoxicated man at a train station on her way home from school, she fought back in a way that's pretty gutsy. Once she realized he was a total mess, she proceeded to grab him by his hair and drag him all the…

Bad News: Cheaper Wine Has Tons Of Arsenic

This goes out to all my girls who are used to hitting up Trader Joes after work and grabbing some "2 Buck Chuck" for a night in by themselves and trashy television. Apparently, we're all ingesting small amounts of arsenic that is basically poisoning us? Yikes. Mother Jones reported that "According to the complaint, three…

Belgian Foreign Minister One Of Many To Particpate In Parade Of White Dudes In Blackface

Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders was gleefully posting pics of himself in blackface on his blog earlier this week to honor this "traditional" Belgian parade dating back to 1876, you know, when colonialism was all the rage! The Noirauds Festival is supposed to "honor blacks" by dressing up as African nobles. How about nope. King…

Judge Ends Chris Brown’s 6-Year Felony Probation

Has it already been six years since Chris Brown was arrested for brutally beating Rihanna right before the Grammys? A lot has happened with the asshole since then, including the act of throwing a chair through a window after being on "Good Morning America," having parking lot fights with other music stars, and also getting…

The New York Times Is Screwing With Us, Right?

After reading this piece today, which declares, "In New York, teens and preteens are becoming savvy connoisseurs of real estate," I am officially convinced the New York Times is trolling us. A 13-year-old convincing his parents to buy a $14 million dream apartment? Come on. The Times' Real Estate section has always been a…

Obama Does Live Action “WELP” Shruggie Emoticon

Today is a good day. In honor of the best emoticon expression in history, the "welp" or shruggie emoticon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is now hereby personified by our commander in chief, and oh what a glorious photographic masterpiece it is! Obama, you have given us lower unemployment, helped reinstate the VAWA act, and so much more. But…

People Magazine Calls Kylie Jenner And Tyga’s Relationship Announcement “Sweet”

I'm gonna go out on a limb here to say that this particular relationship announcement is anything but adorable. For starters, this proclamation was done on Instagram, with Tyga writing, "Certain things capture your eye, but only few capture the heart..." Oh how sweet. Girls are things! The more important issue here though is that…

Jeb Bush Hires Anti-Gay Evangelical Christian As Campaign Advisor

Whoops! Well, there goes the Republican attempt to gain a more moderate and progressive following. They just threw that completely out of the window, if Jeb Bush really is the frontrunner that is. Bush's new senior campaign advisor Jordan Sekulow said, “I am excited to begin a conversation with conservatives about Governor Bush’s pro-life, pro-family,…

World’s First Penis Transplant Is A Success!

Good news everyone, the world's first successful penis transplant was performed in South Africa in December. But I guess it took them that long to see if this was the real deal and ... it was! Paul Feig Denounces Misogynistic Response To “Ghostbusters” Reboot At SXSW

Since Paul Feig's announcement of the all-female cast reboot of "Ghostbusters" in December 2014, there has been an unsurprisingly large amount of backlash by mostly young white men claiming the new cast will ruin the old movie simply by existing (that's not how things work). This has been my favorite laughable "baby man tears" response…

NASA Scientist Claims California Has About One Year Of Water Left

Today in apocalyptic sounding headlines, NASA scientist Jay Famiglietti was published in the Los Angeles Times' op-ed section saying that California has about one year left of water. This has been caused by a variety of factors that started well before the droughts. I remember the '80s and early-'90s as a kid, when the California…
