Cate Blanchett has revealed in a new interview that she is against two things when it comes to beauty—using one’s own urine as a cleanser and getting Botox or plastic surgery.
“There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term it’s not so great,” Blanchett tells Fashionista.com. “I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term. If you have all that stuff done, in the end … you just see the work. It doesn’t fill me with admiration, it fills me with pity.”
Interestingly, she is far from the only Kate to declare themselves against cosmetic procedures recently. Keep reading »
Apparently, Kates really like posing for magazines in the buff. Kate Walsh took it all off for the cover of Shape earlier this week. Now it’s Kate Upton‘s turn. The 19-year-old model appears nude on the new cover and within the new issue of Muse Magazine, an Italian “Fashionart” publication—though, let’s be honest, she’s not wearing that much less than on her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover. This cover is a re-creation of Marilyn Monroe’s so-called “Last Sitting,” which was shot in 1962 by Bert Stern, six week’s before the actress’ death. With her blonde hair teased high, Upton rolls around in a bed with white sheets, posing flirtily for photographer Sebastian Faena. Keep reading »
Want to smell like Dom Pérignon and diamond grills? Well, I have the perfect fragrance for you —Kate Walsh‘s Billionaire Boyfriend.
Billionaire Boyfriend was released on Friday is the second in Walsh’s Boyfriend perfume line. The line is almost a take-down of the whole celebrity fragrance trend, except that you can actually buy the fragrances at both Sephora and on the Home Shopping Network. Apparently, Walsh plans to add a new fragrance to the line every Valentine’s Day.
The original Boyfriend fragrance was released last year and, as Walsh now explains, was inspired by a split with a significant other. Keep reading »
Some people remember Katherine Heigl from her days on the show “Roswell.” But the grand majority got to know the actress as Dr. Izzie Stevens on”Grey’s Anatomy,” a role which won her the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in 2007. (The film “Knocked Up” helped solidify her reputation that year, too.) But Heigl did not make too many friends when, in 2008, she pulled herself out of Emmy consideration, saying, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination.”
Two years later, she left the show. “I am done,” she said at the time. “It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”
Fast forward to the present. I was interested to read an interview with Heigl today, in which she is eating some serious crow trying to get her old job back.
“I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is,” Heigl tells E! News. Keep reading »
There is one good thing we can say about Frank Tufaro (right), the New York City artist who broke into Kate Bush’s home in England, planning to propose to the singer he’d been obsessed with for decades with a Tiffany ring. At least he has good taste? Keep reading »
Laura and Kate Mulleavy, the sisters behind the label Rodarte, rocked it with their costumes for the movie “Black Swan.” So I can’t wait to see what happens when they get their hands on Don Giovanni, the arrogant, slutty nobleman who meets a nasty end in the Mozart opera. The ladies will be doing the costumes for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s new production of the classic opera, which opens in May. Keep reading »
