In this first one, posted to photographer Terry Richardson’s website, Upton attempts to dance in the red dental-floss bikini she wore on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this year.

Last week, The Frisky told you about the New York banker who was charting the waves of Match.com and came up with a novel way to keep the women he was talking to on the site straight—he made a spreadsheet of the eight women he was corresponding with. He included their name, a photo, his initial impressions after viewing their profile, the dates when they’d exchanged winks, the dates of when they’d exchanged emails, and impressions of their first date. He color-coded the women according to who he wanted to “monitor closely ASAP” and who he wanted to “monitor casually.” He, of course, gave each woman a numerical score based on her appearance, getting so specific as to dole out three 7.5s and a 9.5. Katy Perry arrived at the Coachella music festival this weekend rocking a brand new hair color—a darker, richer, longer version of the blue hair she’s been sporting lately. Her hair stylist Rita Hazan tells Page Six, “Her new color is what I call purple velvet. It’s dark and rich. It’s very punk rock. Blanchett bravely posed for the March/April cover of Intelligent Life magazine without the assistance of makeup, retouching, or a wardrobe stylist. The magazine’s editor-in-chief says that they wanted to capture Blanchett in her natural habitat, as “a woman of 42, spending her days in an office, her evenings on stage and the rest of her time looking after three young children.” Keep reading »
My parents are cool. Very cool. In fact, in some ways, they are cooler than I am. They know they all the hot restaurants in New York City, and they’ve been to every new play. They stay out late at jazz clubs, and put together ensembles with the ease of stylists. Their apartment looks like a page out of Dwell.
However, when I was a teenager, I was absolutely mortified by my parents. I remember one time, I was a few minutes late meeting my dad, who had agreed to pick me up from a school dance. Because he didn’t have all day to wait around for me, he walked on into the gym to find me. As I saw him stroll through the pathetically ballooned gymnasium, I felt a tsunami of shame rush over me. As if having parents was something none of my friends and classmates could possibly relate to. I still can hear the awful tenor of the voice I used when my mom once dared to ask me if I’d done my homework when my cooler, older friends came to pick me up to go to a party one night. “Mooooom, you’re embarrassing me!” It’s a teenage refrain.
So I was felt a little better to hear that Kate Beckinsale, admittedly one of the coolest women in the world, has a teenage daughter who is thoroughly embarrassed by her. Keep reading »
Cate Blanchett has revealed in a new interview that she is against two things when it comes to beauty—using one’s own urine as a cleanser and getting Botox or plastic surgery.
“There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term it’s not so great,” Blanchett tells Fashionista.com. “I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term. If you have all that stuff done, in the end … you just see the work. It doesn’t fill me with admiration, it fills me with pity.”
