Tattoos are indelible marks of devotion and dedication–especially when it comes to tattoos of “The Golden Girls.” Nothing says “I love feisty old broads in chic caftans” like having Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose emblazoned on your chest.
After the jump, nine more “Golden Girls”-inspired tats. If you need us, we’ll be eating cheesecake on the lanai.
Denim is so classic, so easy-breezy, so hard to screw up. Or so we thought. Then we found these denim monstrosities and began to reconsider. After the jump, some of the most horrific crimes against denim.
We read Barbara Walters list of the “10 Most Fascinating People of 2010” and were less than impressed. Justin Bieber and the cast of “Jersey Shore”? So last year. Barbara doesn’t have the corner on fascinating people–so we’ve come up with a list of our own. After the jump, The Frisky’s most fascinating people of 2010. And tell us: who were you totally obsessed with this year?
“Project Runway” host Tim Gunn is pretty much our gay spirit dad — and what he says goes. Especially when it comes to the debatable denim-vention, The Jegging. In this clip from “Conan,” Conan O’Brien comes out on Team Jeggings while Tim is (rightfully) on the jeggings fence. And don’t even get them started on skinny jeans. Well, well, well … a new record and some time away from Pete Wentz, and Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump is suddenly svelte and trim. The formerly plump singer dropped a bit of weight in advance of the release of his solo project and now he looks like every other sad emo boy.
And he’s not the only famous dude who’s dropped pounds. After the jump, six more chubby celeb guys who’ve whittled themselves down.
Watch out Spanx, Jill Zarin’s coming for you. “The Real Housewives of New York City” star is launching her own line of unfortunately named shapewear called Skweeze Couture. Zarin created the pinching and sucking garments because she’s “obsessed with looking my best.” Skweeze Couture should launch sometime next year and will join several other “Housewives”-related products, including Ramona Singer’s Tru Renewel beauty creams and Bethenny Frankel’s “Skinny Girl” diet products. Maybe your boss has asked you to fetch coffee or pick up her dry cleaning, but chances are you’ve never had to do some of the crazy things that Leon Reynop has had to do. Reynop is a personal assistant for a very demanding film and television director who one morning asked him to find 200 tennis balls so that he could teach his girlfriend how to play tennis. The problem? The director wanted Reynop to spend less than $10 on them–and he wanted them before noon on the same day. Says Reynop:
“I hopped the fence at a country club with a basket I picked up at the grocery store and picked up like 30 orphan balls, I got chased by the tennis coach. Then I called a buddy who was a member at a country club, who knew a crooked groundskeeper, who sells balls he steals from the country club. I drove like 30 minutes and did this sketchy tennis ball transaction in his alley like I was buying a pound of cocaine and I had to haggle him down.”
Just another day in the life of a personal assistant. Keep reading »
