Show Us Your Supercool Prom Style!

Prom — we all have such fond memories, am I right? Okay, even if your date maybe sucked — mine collected spoons! — you probably wore a super sweet dress (not gonna lie, mine was a floor-length eggplant satin number.) And since prom season is right around the corner, we thought it was high time to dust off the old photo albums and share our prom photos.

Send us a picture—with a description of what you’re wearing—of your hot-to-trot prom style, and we’ll include them in a giant Frisky reader fashion slideshow. Send your prom pics to me–by April 15–at {encode=”julie@thefrisky.com” title=”Julie@TheFrisky.com”}. Keep reading »

How Do I Wear: Floral Tights?

However, there are some rules for wearing floral tights the right way. For one, don’t try to pair another pattern with these tights. One colorful, flower-powered piece is enough. Keep everything else pretty neutral and your outfit will stay pleasantly in bloom. After the jump, we give you a style suggestion for these tights. Keep reading »

A Few of My Favorite Things: Allie from

Where do we even start with Allie? First, she founded The Campus Style, and helped with the blog Young Foxy and Free. But these days, you can find her at Scoutmob, the site for all things awesomely local. “I got an internship at Scoutmob and was hired in the fall as the assistant editor,” she explains. “I get to explore the city and find nifty and noteworthy locals and events. It’s a dream job–full of new doors and windows of opportunity. Everyday I am overwhelmed with how bright the future is for us.” Check out a few of It-Girl Allie’s favorite things after the jump!

Beauty Test Drive: Does The Smashbox Glambox Really Make You Sultry And Sweet?

Take a good look at those two faces above. That beautiful model is rocking Smashbox’s “Glambox,” a full collection of makeup that’s supposed to allow you to complete both a “sultry” and a “sweet” look, as pictured above. I am always a little wary of do-it-yourself kits that claim you can look just like a model. After all, we’re all very aware of how much Photoshopping goes into selling us every product under the sun. So we put the collection to the test. Using the handy guide provided in the kit, my friends Abby and Heidi graciously agreed to see if the Glambox really delivers. After the jump, check out their versions of “sultry” and “sweet” and get the lowdown on how their step-by-step process really went. Keep reading »

The Terrible Beauty Habit I Share With Lady Gaga

Ladies, I’m about to tell you something really gross — something really disgusting that it seems both Lady Gaga and I have a habit of doing. I know that from a very young age, little girls have it drilled into them that we’re not supposed to do this, but I can’t help myself… Keep reading »

Do Not Want: Free People’s Grocery Bag Shoes

I love wedges. Love them! They slim legs and add length to the body, which is great for the height-challenged among us (i.e. me). But for the love of Susan Powter, let’s stop the insanity! These Levon Wedges from Free People look like someone stuck a pair of extremo wedges in a bag and called it a day. Do you want to wear a pair of grocery bags on your feet? Well, do you?
