We couldn’t resist posting this vision from Balmain’s Resort 2012 collection, a complex embroidered confection with which we absolutely fell in love. It’s sort of reminiscent of the Aztec calender tonalpohualli, no? Keep reading »

PSA: Don’t, Like, Ride Your Bike Drunk, Okay?

In all seriousness, drunk cycling is actually very dangerous and you shouldn’t do it, and it’s actually considered a DUI. HOWEVER, this faux public service announcement from the cast of “Hipster Shore” reminds us that drunk hipsters are still very ridiculous and funny and “you should never ride a unicycle, even when you’re sober, cause it’s, like, hard.” Good point, adorable hipster guy. Good point. Keep reading »

Vogue Editor Doesn’t Like it When Men Dress Up

“I dislike men in fashion. I don’t like it when a man dresses as a fashionista. I don’t think it’s attractive at all. Women in fashion, on the other hand, are very attractive. Women can always make you dream.”

Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani, expressing yet another one of her controversial opinions on all things fashion. That’s okay Franca, you can send them all on to me. [

Russia’s Little Rich Kids

Photographer Anna Skladmann’s new book, Little Adults, gives us a peak inside the secret, privileged world of some of Russia’s wealthiest children. Kids like Vadim, pictured here, in bowtie and peacoat, enjoying the view from his terrace in Moscow. Says Skladmann: “Vadim asked me how many photos I was planning to shoot, and I answered ‘maximum 10.’ As the flash lit up, he slowly counted to 10 in his head. After the 10 frames of my first roll were finished, he went back inside, put on his pajamas and asked for a cup of tea so he could sit in front of his television in peace. Naturally, I had wanted to shoot 10 rolls of film, not just 10 frames.” [The New Yorker] Keep reading »

Peep Show Pint Glasses — With Penises, Too!

Peep show glasses — mugs and glasses that have stripping models on the side — have been around since the 1940s. In 1941, a company called Meyercord created and patented the technology that allows the white clothes to disappear when moistened. Most of the time — like, 99 percent — the images were of sexy, scantily clad women, but we loooooove this ’70s mustachioed beefcake on the right. Have a tall, frosty glass of this guy, please.
