Slut. It’s an ugly word, isn’t it? Especially when it’s flung at you by some jerk who thinks the worst way he can insult a woman is by impugning her reputation. (Newsflash: it isn’t.)
But lots of unapologetically sexual ladies don’t let “slut” be a pejorative. Instead, they say, “Judgment be damned!” and wave their slut flag high and wide. They sleep with who they want, when they want, as much as they want, no matter what anyone else says.

Nickelodeon is not usually a channel we’d be caught watching unless there’s a “Ren & Stimpy” marathon on. We may just have to TiVo an episode of the kiddie program “iCarly” in the new year, though: a teaser for the 2012 season is out and First Lady Michelle Obama stops by the iCarly webshow to dance her socks off with Miranda Cosgrove and friends. Too cute! And if I’m not mistaken, that’s “Saturday Night Live”‘s Taran Killam playing a Secret Serviceman. I don’t think it’s anyone’s business to tell parents who have suffered a miscarriage how to behave. People express grief in all sorts of ways, even ways you might consider distasteful. That said, a video message to miscarried baby Jubilee Shalom Duggar strikes me as pro-life messaging first and foremost. “So often in society, babies are looks on as a problem, trial or responsibility,” mama Michelle Duggar reads, “but God says babies are a blessing. We do not believe that babies are a bother or a headache, a financial drainer or a career interrupter.” What a lovely way to honor Jubiliee: by guilt-tripping other women who have terminated unwanted pregnancies!
