8 Style Lessons From “Beverly Hills, 90210″

Anyone who was a teenager in the early ’90s spent Wednesday nights glued to FOX awaiting the latest episodes of “Beverly Hills, 90210.” The adventures of Brenda and Brandon Walsh and their stylish cohorts Kelly, Donna, Dylan and David were the subject of many a teen fantasy.

When it came to their clothes, accessories and hairstyles, it would be remiss to say that the kids of West Beverly High weren’t major style influencers. We dare you to tell us one ’90s teen who didn’t die for Kelly Taylor’s wispy bangs (or red Beemer, for that matter) or Brenda Walsh’s cowboy boots.

Even though their looks may feel a little dated now, there are some takeaways that we shouldn’t ignore. Here, eight style lessons that we can still enjoy, with or without the vintage Porsche. Read more…

8 Ways Your Clothes May Be Dangerous To Your Health

We are happy to admit that we are obsessed with trends and fashion here at HuffPost Style. But even the most devoted fashion fans acknowledge that there are times when clothes are painful, both on the body and on the eyes. Is it possible our wardrobes could actually be dangerous to something more than our wallets? Here are seven clothing culprits might actually be hurting you.

1. The problem: Chemicals in fabrics. This is an obvious one. Back in November, we ran a piece on a report from Greenpeace that detailed the toxic chemicals used in clothes from fast fashion chains. According to Greenpeace’s Media Officer, Myriam Fallon, “Many chemicals that are used in the dying and processing of fabrics can become hormone disrupting and even cancer causing when they break down in nature, and those chemicals are being dumped into rivers right near the factories.” Read more …

Is Kate Middleton Having A Baby Girl?

Is it a girl?!

Kate Middleton may have let the sex of her unborn child slip today as she greeted well-wishers in Grimsby, England. As the Telegraph reports, the duchess was chit-chatting with fans when one woman handed her a teddy bear. Kate reportedly replied, “Thank you, I’ll take that for my d…” then stopped herself.

According to Us Weekly, another bystander asked her if she had meant to say “daughter,” to which the royal replied, “We’re not telling.” Not telling or don’t know? Because another bystander heard her say, “No, we don’t know.” The plot thickens…

Either way, this is exciting because we can finally start envisioning how amazing it would be if Kate and Will had a girl. No offense to baby boys, but think of the fashion potential!

In addition to inheriting a great sense of style, Catherine’s baby girl would also inherit the throne. This year, the British parliament moved forward with legislation to end the principle of male primogeniture, so that Kate and William’s first child can inherit the throne regardless of gender. Yes, Kate’s first born might one day become queen. Read more…

The Most Outrageous Nails At New York Fashion Week Fall 2013

If I had to choose one word to describe the outrageous nails seen backstage at New York Fashion Week, it would have to be frightening. Sure there were the typical dark and moody manicures painted in fall colors like burgundy, green and black. However, the dagger-like digits models sported at most of the shows looked like they came straight out of a scary movie.

CND co-founder Jan Arnold took this theme to the extreme at The Blonds with nail art inspired by classic horror flicks like “The Shining” and “Psycho” — using mini Jack Nicholson and Janet Leigh screaming face prints. Miss Pop, a Manhattan-based nail artist, was tapped to create a spooky set of black and white ombre nails at Katie Gallagher. And even Kate Spade’s colorful fall collection got a terrifying touch with pyramid studded claws. Read more…

Miley Cyrus Flashes Side Boob, Already Violates Grammy Dress Code

If Grammy pre-parties are any indication of what’s to come, CBS is not going to be happy.

Miley Cyrus, for one, doesn’t seem to be taking heed of the network’s recent dress code announcement for the Grammy Awards broadcast – you know, the one that requested that “buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered.” Just last night, the singer opted for quite a fate-tempting look at Clive Davis & The Recording Academy’s 2013 Pre-Grammy Gala.

It looked like the 20-year-old had a hard time keeping herself, er, adequatelycovered in her Emilio Pucci halter gown. Read more…

What Men Are Really Judging You On

Stressing over your appearance is one of the many undesirable aspects of singledom. But what if you had empirical data to help you prioritize your beauty regimen? Thanks to Match.com, now you do.

The online dating site conducted a three-year study of over 5,000 single men and women and came up with a list of the top 10 things men judge women on. The least surprising news? Over half of the list was appearance-based. It makes sense — women have seemed to adjust their getting-ready times accordingly, devoting 136 full days of their lives primping and preening for a night out, according to another 2008 survey.

OK, now are you ready for the surprising news? Match.com found that the most important thing for men is a woman’s teeth, which took the top slot with 58 percent of votes. And all those years you thought your dentist was just being naggy about the whole flossing thing. Read more…

Is Hannah Davis — Derek Jeter’s Girlfriend — The Next Kate Upton?

She’s young, hot and ALREADY dating a pro athlete. Yep, we’d say model Hannah Davis is all but ready to hit the big time.

And if she stars in 2013′s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, as Page Six claims, she could be on the fast track to Kate Upton-like star status very, very soon. (You remember, of course, that the cover of 2012′s swimsuit issue was the rocket that launched Upton’s now white-hot career.) Read more…
