Watch Models Work It Out For Topshop Holiday Campaign

Models are always going on and on about what hard work photoshoots are, but this behind-the-scenes at Topshop‘s holiday collection sesh with cute photog Max Farago proves for once and for all that it is not quite the backbreaking labor these waifs would have you believe. Anyhoo, all the sparkly sequins, studs, baubles and platforms are making us really excited to buy some fabby cocktail dresses this season … or at least dream about the ones we want. Keep reading »

Mel B’s Red Carpet FAIL

Apparently, Hollywood pressure can really get to a (spice) girl. Mel B is married to some producer dude who had something to do with some new movie called, “Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” that we will likely never see. It premiered last night. Whatever. But The Daily Mail reports that when she realized “she would be sharing the red carpet with A-listers Eva Mendes and Charlize Theron, she knew she would have to go the extra mile to get attention.” Oddly, she kind of went the opposite of an extra mile and uh, fell a little short. Seriously. Tragically. Short. [The Daily Mail]

Beauty Test Drive: All We Want For Xmas Is A Little Bling

The holiday beauty gift sets are rolling out to stores and well, let’s just say some are better than others. This Thierry Mugler Alien combo, $75, is one of the former. There are plenty of Angel fans out there, but if you haven’t had the pleasure of smelling the lesser known Alien it’s a little tougher and, I think, chicer with a core scent of Moroccan jasmine and an effervescent (and surprising) tangerine top note rounded out with white amber and Kashmir wood. In short, it’s the perfect winter fragrance, it smells absolutely delicious, and I’ve been spritzing it on before dinner which makes me feel terribly glamorous. This season, they’re selling this limited-edition, Swarovski bedazzled, 30ml refillable container served up with a side of gold wax that’s perfect to use as a highlighter for your cheekbones and décolleté. Yum. [Thierry Mugler] Keep reading »

Cameron Diaz’s Topknot: Sexy Or Sloppy?

Yesterday the new, creepy-looking movie “The Box” premiered in N.Y.C., and whether you’re anti or not, you have to admit its star, Cameron Diaz, looked really fresh and cute. Gorgeous gold necklace, classy oyster-colored silk dress, pitch-perfect makeup and a messy topknot as a hair styling finale for the ensemble. Maybe her hairstylist was inspired by all the spring 2010 shows where models strolled down the runway sporting the look (like this more extreme version at Marc Jacobs, right). Personally, I’m torn. I’m a huge proponent of messy hair paired with more formal attire — it looks wicked modern and is so much more interesting than your standard stale blowout. At the same time, this is how I wear my hair every day in yoga class, so I have a hard time enthusing over the look. The topknot is definitely a trend we’ll be seeing more of, like, erm, the all-pervasive bowl cut. So, is it working for you? I’ll give it this: It’s one updo that’s certainly easy to recreate at home. Keep reading »

Vogue Gives Some Highly Questionable Style Advice

Sure, critics say Vogue has lost touch with today’s modern women, but uh, you kinda have to see it (via video) to believe it. In this edition of “60 Seconds To Chic,” host Louise Roe explores how to wear the winter boot. And boy, is it full of gems! There’s the batcrackers your-boss-will-think-you’re-insane first look that she suggests is “good to go to the office,” a screaming green fur Russian cap served up with the sunny, helpful, “Don’t be scared to wear a hat!” and, finally, bare legs and an evening dress paired with wild, ’80s-style Sorrel boots for an ensemble that says you are a very practical girl. You’re also freezing to death. [Fashionista] Keep reading »

20 Celebs With Hair Down To There

longhairladies m jpg
Much like models, celebrity agents encourage their famous clients to maintain shortish hairstyles, since it makes them more malleable and open to a variety of parts. But more than a few starlets don’t seem to give a hoot and are wearing their hair longer and longer. Eh, or maybe it’s just a recession thing. We can’t afford to get our hair cut often enough either … Click through to be absolutely mesmerized by a whole bunch of chicks (and one guy) who probably power through bottles of detangler like nobody’s biz.
