Shauna Puts The “K” In Klassy

American “actress” and Playboy Playmate Shauna Sand manages to cram a number of trends–the iPhone, trucker cap, lucite stripper heels, animal prints and the it bag–all into one teensy weensy beach outfit. So multi-tasky! [Miami, 3/31/10] Keep reading »

Cats Get Lazy On Hump Day Too

Ah Wednesday, sometimes you feel like you should be Friday. Alas, this is not the case; however, we may take solace in this kitty administering a mid-week slump of a smackdown. Don’t feel bad for the pup though. He seems like he kinda likes the abuse. [Viddler] Keep reading »

Fergie Dresses Like A “Lady”

Lady Gaga certainly isn’t the first pop star to wear totally outrageous ensembles, but is it just us or does it seem like she may have upped the game a notch? Fergie, performing during the Black Eyed Peas: The E.N.D World Tour concert last night, is definitely channeling some of the cuckoo. (See more of our favorite crazy concert costumes here.) Stand Down PETA, Angie’s Bag Made From Horse Haircuts

Um, PR crisis averted? If the $5000 Akris horsehair purse wasn’t the it bag of the season, it will be now. Angelina Jolie was spotted traipsing around Venice sporting hers (you can just barely see it and it’s a rather fetching shade of ecru), but lest you think she’ll wear any old luxury item on her famous arm, she did her homework first. She had her stylist phone the Swiss design house to make sure the origin of the horsehair was ethical in nature. According to WWD: “’We told her horses get haircuts just like we do,’ Akris designer Albert Kriemler said of the bag, which is made with hair from horse tails.” Uh-huh, that’s what they told her anyway. Shew! But can you imagine being so paranoid about stirring up controversy that you have to vet your purse before you leave the house? Then again, maybe she truly is concerned about those lil’ old ponies. Let’s hope it’s the latter. [WWD] Keep reading »

Madonna Used Child Labor To Create New Fashion Line

We’ll have to wait until August to see Madonna‘s much-hyped new fashion brand, MG icon, but we had to wonder why the Material Girl chose to launch with a junior’s line at Macy’s instead of, say, a more sophisticated collection at Barneys. Turns out, it was all a matter of convenience: In a recent AP interview, Madonna claimed that daughter Lourdes was the brains behind the threads: “Really she does most of the work, honestly.” And she told “Access Hollywood” that Lourdes comes in to start working while she’ll “sit back and watch.” Well, alrighty then. Lourdes is only 13, but she does have a killer fashion sense, and designing clothes beats the chores we used to have to do. And we have to admire Madonna’s cajones on this one, as opposed to all these stars denying they ripped off their so-called designs lately. Instead of lying about it, just put it all out there. You’ll sleep better at night. [NBC New York] Keep reading »

Marion Cotillard’s Shangai Surprise

Does anyone here know what a “Shangai Surprise” is anyway? (I’m aware that Google exists, but I’m feeling lazy.) Regardless, how gorgeous does Miss Cotillard look against the skyline of the city as Lady Blue, the third incarnation of her seriously epic Dior campaign? [Lady Dior] Keep reading »

Can You “Guess” Which Claudia Schiffer Ad Is New?

Those of us golden oldies who can remember Claudia Schiffer‘s Guess modeling days (and may or may not have had said ads plastered on our walls next to Kate Moss’s Calvin Klein tearouts back in the day) did a double take when we saw the supermodel’s new ad campaign for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, at right. Obviously, the more important thing here is that you should waste no time supporting the cause by shopping the collection — 30 percent of proceeds go to FTBC. But before you go, please take a moment to marvel at how a little lighting, a great photographer (Mario Testino), Photoshop, and designer genes can shave off a few decades. Wow. Keep reading »

The 12 Hottest Male Fashion Designers

hot fashion dudes jpg
They’re young, they’re rich, and they’re constantly surrounded by the most beautiful women in the world — not to mention they love shoes as much as we do. What’s not to like about hot male fashion designers? Of course, the majority of them may not be the straightest berries in the patch (but neither was our friend Ricky Martin and millions of women were in love with him, right?). Still, we can’t help but crush out on these dudes whether they’d have us or not, and one thing’s for sure: With mad tailoring skills like these, they know exactly how a woman’s body works. With that in mind, check out 12 of the yummiest guys working in fashion today.

Quotable: Twiggy Longed For Curves “Like Marilyn”

“Whether you’re thin, fat, small, dark, blond, redhead, you wanna be something else. I wanted a fairy godmother to make me look like Marilyn Monroe. I had no boobs, no hips, and I wanted it desperately.”

Twiggy, on how even the most iconic supermodels of all time fall prey to “the grass is always greener” syndrome. [AP] Keep reading »

Gaga Takes The Bull By The Horns

I’ve heard of fan fiction, but not fan album covers. One of Lady Gaga‘s particularly creative “monsters” created this cover for the single “Alejandro,” beating famous photog Steven Klein to the punch. (Klein reportedly directed the yet unreleased video.) Oddly, the placement of this scar looks very appendectomy-esque. [YVY] Keep reading »
