Jenna Bush, The Brunette Version

Former first daughter Jenna Bush has gone over to the dark darker side. Her new brunette ‘do is a big difference from her famously blond locks. Now, we have a few theories as to why she would go there: to curate a more mysterious look, to stand out from her sister, for a change after her recent wedding. Most likely, she read our insanely popular post, “10 Reasons Why Being A Brunette Is Awesome.” Whatever the reason, we like. You? Keep reading »

“Paper Heart” Shreds Ours — In A Good Way

Charlyne Yi does not believe in love. She is making a kinda-sorta-documentary asking friends and others about what love is. “Take somebody to Applebee’s and get them hot wings,” one kid suggests as the perfect date. Accidentally, of course, Charlyne falls in love with none other than our favorite nerd-hottie Michael Cera. You may recognize Charlene from her appearance as the stoned girl on the couch in “Knocked Up,” but in this semi-documentary she reminds us of the existence of love, wherever you might find it (like with that nerdy guy you never quite noticed before). Something tells us this film and “(500) Days Of Summer” will be duking it out for our favorite indie romance of the summer. (Pssst! Just in case you were wondering, Yi and Cera found love together — in real life.) “Paper Heart” opens in theaters on August 7. [Paper Heart] Keep reading »

Christian Siriano To Unveil Starbucks Mystery

The Cut reported recently that “Project Runway” designer Christian Siriano will be unveiling his special “holiday collaboration” with Starbucks today. Despite this exciting gossip, news sources are not allowed to tell us anything until November 17th. This is tragic and very, very, very many fashion light years away. We can only guess that it will be a cookie with his face on it or, like, coffee cozies he’s designed that say “Don’t Make A Hot Mess!” to urge you not to spill. We hope it’s new uniforms — sigh, they are so drab and paper bag brown. Grab a free Starbucks pastry today while you ponder this mega news and give us your best guess. [Will the designers-teaming-up-with-huge-corporations madness ever end? Just curious. -- Editor] Keep reading »

Hair Love: The Side Braid

We heart Lauren Conrad’s sidebraid. From high fashion to the street, its caught on almost as fast as Jennifer Aniston’s Friends bob.

From the Tracy Reese runway braid, the Hill’s LC braid and finally the street hair braid, here’s how to do it:
1. Part hair slightly more than halfway
2. Start a regular braid but grab more hair each time you cross over another strand
3. When you get to halfway through, pin the hair with two bobby pins

Try this if you want some pictures er, illustrations to guide you.

Mmmm, we just love the smell of fresh pastries out of the oven. What better way to kick off a dinner party but with delicious cream puffs. You can fill them with cream or turn them into an appetizer using salmon or something else. Here is a recipe my mom just sent for the perfect cream puff, complete with her special batter for the filling and choclate sauce. Use, edit and enjoy!
