The Golden Days Of Summer

We love laying on the deck of a sailing boat on a hot summer day, but what we love even more is all the gold, nautical-themed accessories that are inspired by it. Go ahead and tie yourself up in (golden) knots. Keep reading »

Crave: Lomo Super Sampler 4 Lens Panoramic 35mm Camera

We love this Super Sampler Camera from Lomography! Not only does it take four pictures at once, but it’s also super affordable. The two settings let you snap moving pics in two different speeds — four photos in 2 seconds or 0.2 seconds. This is the fastest way to tell a story and spice up that scrapbook. Make Up Your Face For Under $20

Why, oh why is makeup so pricey? Yes we love our YSL and Benefit, but considering the circumstances, maybe schlepping to the drugstore beauty counter aisle isn’t so bad anymore. We’ve rounded up a face full of daytime-friendly makeup for a mere $20. Keep reading »

DIY Dating in the Dark

Viewers are going crazy over the new ABC show “Dating in the Dark” where women and men are forced to get to know each other in the pitch black darkness. After a few dates, they are allowed to see each other without speaking and finally must make the choice of how important looks really are. Here at The Frisky we wish we had time to audition and hop on to one of these fun shows, but sadly we don’t. (Consequently, some of us also have boyfriends who just wouldn’t understand.) Instead we’ve decided to find activities to recreate dating in the dark. Keep reading »

Sherri Shepherd Loses Her Bikini Wax Virginity

Brave, brave Sheri Shepherd shows us how hilarious a bikini wax can truly be. Not only do you feel her pain, but you feel so wrong for laughing at it. First of all, I’m surprised she was not told in advance, or even worse that she didn’t ask what kind of wax she was getting. It only adds to the tragic situation. I’d say it’s a nice break from the sporadic morning cat fights on “The View.” Cringe, laugh, cry, and enjoy. Keep reading »

Well, she also snagged a gig as spokesperson for the Femme for DKNY Jeans line, and the sneak peek is out. If you’re wondering why these gritty NYC pics are so different from her sugary sweet Candie’s ads, the man to blame thank (!) is none other than the Sartorialist, super-street style photog Scott Schuman. Cool, right? [People] Keep reading »

The End Starts Here For Rodney Smith

We heart Rodney Smith. If you don’t recognize the name, don’t worry, you’ll certainly recognize his pictures. One of our faves is this pic shot for New York mag of a couple smooching on top of a sea of taxis beneath a bridge. Now that you’re up to speed, go check out his freshly launched blog because it’s, um, amazing. Plus, he breaks down the stories behind all of his iconic pictures. He’s also taking pre-orders for his new book, The End, which will hit bookstores this fall for the whopping price of $650. (Hey, it will totally go up in value!) And according to his book site, “despite the vehement objections of Mr. S,” they’re offering an early bird special of $600, which includes a gift card and personally signed poster along with the book one month before its release. [Editor: Because that's so much more reasonable!] After the jump, more classic photos… Keep reading »

We love theBalm makeup collection’s Hot Mama — it’s the perfect compact for emergency beauty touch-up sessions when you’re out and about. The best part? It’s a blush, eyeshadow, and highlighter all in one, leaving lots more room for accidental purchases in your bag.
