The Daily Squeeze: A Headache Cure (Or Cause), Plasma TVs, And Britain’s Sex Drive

  • Sometimes sex can cure headaches and sometimes sex can cause headaches. Perhaps it depends on how good the sex is? [ABC]
  • A survey done by British electronics company Comet found that 47 percent of men (and 35 percent of women) would give up sex for six months in exchange for a 50″ plasma TV, illustrating the fact that both men and women know what’s important in life—owning really nice things! [Easier.com]
  • The British Health Department is launching a contraceptive drive today to decrease unwanted pregnancies, pushing for the use of longer-term anti-pregnancy devices like injections and implants. Sure, this might save money on unwanted pregnancies, but these contraceptive methods don’t protect against STDs. [AHN]

Be (Or Pretend To Be) Italian, Get Girls

Lindsay Lohan fell under the spell of many Italian men when she was in Capri for a film festival earlier this year, and in the Swedish film Ciao Bella, Massimo is hoping that pretending to be an Italian stallion will help him get some ladies. I can’t wait for this movie to be available on Netflix. [Ciao Bella via Variety.com] Keep reading »

The Daily Squeeze: Office Romance, Kelly Osbourne’s Dating Don’t, And An Online Lingerie Store

  • An Italian survey found that people involved in an office romance were happier, more energetic, and more productive, so in the name efficiency at work, ask your IT guy out to drinks. [The Sun (U.K.)]
  • Kelly Osbourne might be single, but she won’t be finding her next boyfriend on the Internet. “I’d never go on one of those online dating sites…,” she said. “The Internet was created for knowledge and now it’s perverted.” Does that mean she doesn’t use e-mail? [Digital Spy]
  • Guys who are sheepish about entering lingerie stores can go online and view various ensembles on actual models. While this seems like it could be good idea, the models are too small—the largest looks to be a size 6 and doesn’t have a speck of cellulite on her butt (which is visible when have her “try on” a thong). Heels Are The New Vitamins

Even though wearing heels can cause problems–SJP has said that wearing them for years while taping Sex and the City did a number on her knees (and sometimes my back hurts if I wear a pair for long stints or multiple days)–there are some benefits, according to a new study by the University of Verona. Wearing medium-height heels can tone and condition muscles and may improve your sex life. But don’t even think about teetering around in 5-inchers—the researcher says that 4-1/2 inches should be the limit. Plus, shoes that tall tend to look a little stripper-esque. [Times Online]

The Daily Squeeze: A Defective Sex Doll, A Matthew McConaughey Movie, And A Free Brothel

  • A sex shop in Transylvania was fined $1,200 after a man complained that the sex doll he bought there deflated too quickly. They also had to provide him with a new doll. [Courier Mail (Australia)]
  • Do exes haunt you? Because they haunt Matthew McConaughey. In next year’s movie The Ghost of Girlfriends Past, McConaughey will be visited by ex-girlfriends, one played by Jennifer Garner, and hopefully learn something, kind of like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, except for the fact that Scrooge didn’t sleep with the Ghost of Christmas Past. [Reuters]
  • Here’s a novel idea: Give men free sex in exchange for filming it—the only stipulation is that he can’t try to hide his face. A brothel in Prague doesn’t charge its clients but videotapes them with the 58 high-resolution cameras scattered throughout the establishment. The video is then available on subscription website (for those into semi-reality porn), and the guy gets a DVD to remember it all. [Sunday Herald (Scotland)]

    A Love Story Like Titanic

Love stories about old people make us happy — why do you think Titanic and The Notebook did so well? — and a story in the Guardian this week could easily become Gena Rowlands’ next movie. Almost 70 years ago, a woman and her fiancé got into a huge fight just months before their wedding date. Violet Booth was so upset that she threw her diamond ring away, but she and her fiancé, Samuel, made up almost immediately and tried desperately to find the ring, to no avail. Fast forward seven decades. Violet’s grandson, whose hobby is metal detecting, searched the area and found the ring in just two hours. “I went round to my Nan’s with some maps and she managed to pinpoint the field. Then I got permission from the landowner and headed out. It was buried three to four inches down, and it wasn’t even damaged. I just had to give it a wipe,” the grandson said. And the discovery brought Violet, who has been a widow 15 years, to tears: “I was in such a state when we couldn’t find it. Samuel didn’t tell me off — he wasn’t like that. We got a new one, but it’s not the same, is it?” [Guardian U.K.] Keep reading »
