Will “The Walking Dead” Live On For 9 More Seasons?

Picture of a zombie from The Walking Dead

Here’s a question for “The Walking Dead” fans: how many seasons do you think the show will air? A few more years, tops? AMC’s biggest shows don’t normally last all that long: “Breaking Bad” is wrapping its fifth and final season this summer, and season seven will be the last we’ll see of “Mad Men.”

Well, if AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan has his way, we’ll be watching “The Walking Dead” for at least nine more years. He’s publicly stated that he hopes the show will still be around in 2022, and that the show, much like the comic series and the shambling undead walkers it depicts, will simply live on forever. Read more on The Stir…

Jennifer Lawrence As A Naked Blue Mutant Is Ridiculously Hot

Jennifer Lawrence: is there anything she can’t do? She’s universally beloved for tripping and falling during the Oscars, she gets away with smoking pot, she admits being star-struck by Honey Boo Boo, she jokes about her butt, and she just so happens to be one of the most gorgeous and intriguing actresses in Hollywood. Also, according to a recently released X-Men image, she looks stupendously hot as a naked blue mutant.

Yesterday, ”X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer tweeted a photo of Lawrence in her role as Mystique, and she looks predictably fantastic. What’s really interesting about the photo, however, is the fact that Lawrence is wearing a completely different Mystique costume this time around — and even with the fairly detailed picture Singer shared, you can’t tell what’s fabric and what’s flesh. Read more on The Stir…

Was Angelina Jolie ‘Duped’ By Doctors Into Thinking She Needed A Mastectomy?

angelina jolie double mastectomy

Was Angelina Jolie duped into an unnecessary double mastectomy by greedy surgeons who just wanted to mutiliate her for no other reason than to cash in on the expensive procedure? Such is the theory going around naturalistic circles. There are plenty of people who sincerely believe that cancer — even if you are genetically predisposed to certain types of it – can readily be prevented by certain foods, vitamins, and a healthy lifestyle. If only it were so. Keep reading »

7 Wedding Traditions With Beginnings That May Surprise You

From the minute you get engaged to even several months into being a newlywed, you’re exposed to wedding traditions galore. Some you may be familiar with (very, if you’ve been in/to a lot of weddings) and others that may have slipped your mind completely (because you were distracted by other important matters of business like designing an acceptable seating chart or negotiating with vendors).

Case in point: When my fiance (whoops!) husband and I were on our way back from the airport after getting hitched earlier this month, one of my brilliant colleagues said I had to make him carry me over the threshold when we got home. So funny. I hadn’t even thought of that. And being the history geek that I am, I proceeded to Google it to find out where the seemingly sweet tradition came from. Let me  tell you — I probably shouldn’t have.

Here, that and six other wedding traditions’surprising origins that may make you see them in a whole new light. Read more on The Stir…

It’s spring and romance is in the air (can’t you smell it within the pollen?). Every spring my husband and I take our annual anniversary five-day weekend, and every spring, we wish it could be 10 days longer. Sex “Superbug” Could Be Deadlier Than AIDS

Sex is a strange thing. It’s one of the most wonderfully intimate and bonding experiences we can share with someone. And … it can kill you. I KNOW. Such a paradox. With every person we find super attractive and want to get to know better — especially between the sheets — we have to also take on certain risks. And those risks can be deadly! It’s crazy! Who thought up this sex thing? Really got it wrong in my opinion. Anyway. Point is, there’s a new “superbug” out there in sex land and experts fear it’s going to be deadlier than AIDS! Ack, bring me my chastity belt!

Two cases of the ”sex superbug” have been found in Hawaii. So I know where I’m NOT going on vacation. (Ha. Little joke.) The superbug, which is an antibiotic-resistant strain of gonorrhea, has the potential to be as deadly or even deadlier than AIDS. It first surfaced in Japan a couple of years ago, but has since spread to Hawaii.

And unlike AIDS, this superbug can kill you in a matter of days. Not only that, people often don’t have symptoms, so someone could pass it along to you without knowing they have it. Read more on The Stir…
