10 Minutes To A Dimpled Smile

We’re sure that after reading this news, Heidi Montag will run to her plastic surgeon to go under the knife yet again. Apparently, lipo and breast enhancements are so over, and the new surgery of choice is dimpleplasty, which accents your smile with one or two little indents. We’ll admit that dimples are adorable on little girls with pigtail curls, but despite trend news, it’s hard to imagine that grown women and men are spending thousands of dollars to update their smile. This outpatient procedure requires only local anesthesia, and even though doctors are cutting into your face, technically adding imperfections, hundreds of people are hot to get a few dents. If you’re desperate for dimples, a dimpleplasty will only cost you 10 minutes and $2,000 to $5,000 in cash. What’s next, permanent faux freckles? [Lemondrop] Keep reading »

“Sex And The City 2″ Goes Green!

An obsession with green has taken hold of the world, and even the “Sex and the City” ladies have been inspired to go earth-friendly with their style choices. Technically, if you think about it, eco-friendly fashion is nothing new for “SATC.” After all, Carrie Bradshaw has always had a healthy obsession with vintage finds. But the character we least expected to tote around a green handbag does just that in “Sex and the City 2.” Samantha Jones, queen of all things expensive, totes around the Mega Ecoist bag in silver, created entirely from recycled candy wrappers. A little crunchy for her, no? The good news is that Samantha’s bag is not only eco-friendly, but also wallet-friendly, retailing for $178! That’s a whole lot more affordable than a pair of Manolos or an Hermès Birkin bag. [Treehugger] Keep reading »

Victoria Beckham Makes Menswear Chic

Though she’s the queen of fitted dresses and slim silhouettes, Victoria Beckham is expanding her design portfolio into a new realm. Instead of sticking to sophisticated dresses and curve-hugging designs, Posh will enter the world of menswear, where the emphasis will be on tailoring. “I always design things that I love and I’ve been obsessed with tailoring—I love a great jacket,” she said of her latest design move. With all the celebrity designers forcing their opinions onto the fashion world, it’s hard to be taken seriously, but Victoria is doing her best to show her interest and involvement. While she could simply hire a designer, Victoria actually spent time studying under the tailors at Savile Row, learning their craft to prep for her newest collection and earning major respect, at least from us. Bespoke Swimsuits Are The Answer To Your Bikini Fears

‘Tis the season for pool days, beach tanning, and summer vacations, all of which no doubt incite spasms of fear and pangs of terror in women all over. Because along with the warm weather comes the need to dress appropriately, and show off aspects of your figure that hid out underneath layers of clothes all winter long. If bathing suit shopping just isn’t your thing, (but, really, whose thing is it?) and the idea of trying on suit after suit in that horrid florescent lighting makes you want to throw up inside, then Lori Coulter has the solution. After realizing women all over have issues shopping for swimwear, Lori created the TrueMeasure process, which uses a 3-D body scanner to figure out 140 measurements of your body. Based on those numbers, she’ll narrow down certain shapes and styles that work with your body and help to customize a personal, made-to-order swimsuit just for you. A bespoke suit will surely be a bit pricey, but it might be worth it to avoid spending hours in department store fitting rooms [Lori Coulter] Keep reading »

Need Another Online Shopping Site? Maybe.

Between Gilt Groupe, ideeli, Rue La La, and The Outnet, the web is clogged with newsletters, online shopping sites, and exclusive deals, but pretty soon another one will be added to the masses. A former retail exec, Cecilia Pagkalinawan, and venture capitalist, Jim Robinson IV, have hatched a plan to launch StyleTrek, which aims to create a brand-new way to shop. Like we haven’t heard that before. But instead of focusing on established designers, Cecila plans to give those who are emerging a chance to flaunt their wares through social commerce. Topshop Wants To Help You Tat Yourself

Chanel’s fake tattoos have been spotted on the skin of some famous ladies lately, obviously gifts from the design house, but if you aren’t an F.O.K. (friend of Karl, as in Lagerfeld) that doesn’t mean you can’t decorate your body with a few temporary designs. We’re certainly not suggesting you head to the nearest kids’ party store for a multi-pack of flowers, hearts, and stars, as that would hardly be fashion-forward. Ahem. Topshop’s here to serve as the middle ground for tattoos, in between designer and juvenile options. The retailer offers a variety of options, including a bird tattoo that looks a lot like one of the Chanel tats, a heart with wings, and a selection of chains for your ankle or wrist. All that’s missing are the double C’s, but at least you’ll be on trend. Do you think you’ll try out some fake ink this summer? [Topshop] Keep reading »

Revlon Offers Nail Polish You Can Sniff

When I was a kid, I loved those smelly markers so much that I refused to color with them for fear they would run out of scent. Obviously, they eventually dried up, but not before I forgot about them and moved on to a different obsession. Revlon hasn’t forgotten how much girls like scented products though, and the company is cashing in on the childhood trend with a line of fragrant nail polishes. But unlike the markers, these nail hues only give off odors when dry, which means if you choose to manicure your hands with one of these polishes, you’ll be a walking perfume bottle for the five whole days the scent lasts; when you pick your polish, you’re committing to a wearing a particular color and scent. The smelly options include Grape Icy, Ocean Breeze, and Beach, which sound more like candle fragrances than perfumes in my opinion. I’m not sold on this idea, especially considering the fact that I really don’t want my hands to smell, ever. Will you try Revlon’s scented offering? [Fashionista] Keep reading »

Your Favorite Fashion Designers Show How They Decorate Their Homes

If you weren’t already jealous of designers’ aesthetic abilities when it comes to creating clothes, you’re certainly going to be envious of their interior design skills and massive pads. The Council of Fashion Designers of America is working with Assouline to publish American Fashion Designers at Home, which will show off the inside of over 115 homes, including Donna Karan‘s sweet retreat, Ralph Lauren‘s ranch, and Diane von Furstenberg‘s abode. Now, I’m sure the majority of these designers had help with their decision-making process about the style of their living quarters, but it’s still inspiring to see their choices, not to mention the fact that there’s nothing more entertaining then taking a peek inside other people’s homes. The book will retail for $65, but proceeds will benefit the CFDA Foundation, and we’re sure it will provide countless ideas to help you make your home just as pretty as a fashion designer’s — without the interior designer fee. Click through for a sneak peek at some of the pages. [WWD] Keep reading »

Lindsay Lohan Really Wants To Hide That SCRAM Bracelet

Just last week, Lindsay Lohan put out a Twitter plea to Karl Lagerfeld for a few Chanel stickers to dress up her new SCRAM bracelet. When the designer shockingly didn’t immediately respond to her request, Lindsay must have realized she was going to need a second option to get through the court-ordered punishment. Rather than relying on designer freebies, the troubled actress found a new way to hide her SCRAM bracelet. Despite the impending summer heat, Lindsay’s gone boot-happy. While some see summer as a chance to free their feet from the confines of closed-toed shoes, Lindsay has decided to wear slouchy flat boots so her alcohol-monitoring anklet isn’t visible. The actress scrounged up two pairs, one tan and the other dark brown, and has been prancing around California in shorts and her footwear of choice. Quick, some boot-making shoe company send her an assortment of options for tons of free press! [E! Online] Keep reading »
