Yellow and gray is a color combination I’ve loved since I was a kid. I love the contrast of bright and vibrant yellow against neutral and grounding gray. After the jump, some of my favorite yellow and gray fashion pairings.
Metallic shoes are no longer a trend; they’re a staple. We’d even argue that every woman needs at least one pair of metallic shoes in her style arsenal. This glitzy shoe style can go casual or dressy, depending on what you pair it with, but never seems like an afterthought. Here are 14 of our favorite shiny, happy metallic shoes.
During that unpredictable transition to spring and summer, we felt we had to take advantage of every beautiful weekend because there’s was a chance the next day’s weather would be cold, rainy, or both. Fashion is often about mixing and coordinating opposites, so it’s no surprise that all summer long, fashion insiders have advocated wearing cutoff denim shorts with a blazer. I’ve seen this look in the pages of Lucky and Elle and on a whole host of style blogs. But what has irked me about this trend is that editors often try to make the shorts work with pieces that are too formal, dressy, or glitzy. Many of these publications showed cutoff shorts with a black blazer, but I think that’s too predictable and too much contrast between formal and casual. I prefer more color in this look because denim shorts are the epitome of casual fun. I styled two denim cutoffs and blazer looks that will work when you’re stepping out for playtime … which in my adult world means cocktails, a date, or shopping.
