Emily Hingle is a native southern Louisianan, and she doesn’t think that she’ll ever leave her ancestral home. She graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2010 with a B.A. in Film, Theater, and Communication Arts, but had already shown interest in the field of writing. She was briefly enrolled in UNO’s graduate school for Professional Writing, but decided that a new car would be better suited to pursuing a career in journalism at that moment. She began freelance writing for entertainment magazines in the New Orleans area as well as international music websites and established herself as a tastemaker for music, cuisine, art, literature, and cultural activities. She remains a freelance writer for New Orleans-area and national brands, and you can often find her attending restaurant openings, going to concerts, catching the latest Broadway shows, and seeking out the best new brews in town. You can keep up with Emily’s activities on her Instagram @culturecreep.
Ms. Lee enjoys existentialism, testing out various kind of lubes, and eating big salads. She used to be scared of clowns and is now scared of heights. She has never been in a fight and would probably lose if she was forced to put up her dukes. Ms. Lee rallies against misogyny, incels, and PUA. She detests wearing thongs and bras, but appreciates other women in them. Her motto is “You do you, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.”
Chewy Boese spent her teenage years furiously making ‘zines. She is a graduate of Fordham University, where she studied photography. She went on to not take photos. Instead, she worked her way up to the position of sous chef at a Michelin starred restaurant in NYC, while also writing a dating blog. Her favorite thing to cook is a legit Bolognese and she will ostracize anyone who puts sugar in theirs. Chewy currently lives in New Orleans for some unknown reason. She enjoys horror movies, good tattoos, graphic novels, Dorothy Parker poems, cats, makeup, collecting Furrybones, and changing up hair styles. Her favorite book is “Lolita,” her favorite X-Man is Magneto, and her favorite band is Spoon. Chewy is a big proponent of mental health awareness and feminism/equality.
