Brangelina settles custody agreement for their 6 kids and things still don’t look great for Pitt

It’s sort of amazing that not only are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorcing, they were also fighting over custody, which is just one of the nastiest thing some parents have to do. But if you were worried about them, fear not, because Brangelina’s custody agreement has been decided. According to the Associated Press, Jolie will have custody of all six kids (Maddox, 15, Pax 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8), and they’ll be allowed “therapeutic visits” with their dad, though there aren’t any deets about whether that means they’ll be in family therapy together or if it’s some Hollywood way of making time with your dad sound like more fun.

But there might be more to the story than that. According to a rep for Jolie, this agreement was reached over a week ago. Which is odd, since Pitt filed for joint custody on Friday, according to TMZ. At the outset of the divorce, Jolie was seeking sole custody. So maybe there’s an underground fight going on that the couple doesn’t want played out in the press. The rep said this agreement was decided on by childcare professionals. “We hope now that it is clear that the events which led to the dissolution filing involved minor children and their well being, there will be understanding of the sensitivity of the family situation,” the rep’s statement read.

Mind your goddamn business, basically.

But it’s hard not to want to know what the hell is going on — we’ve been watching Brad and Angelina since forever and the fact that they’re splitting under what seems to be crazy contentious circumstances has been the only welcome distraction from political news this year. Come on Brangelina, let us live.

Then again, they’re reportedly splitting up because Pitt allegedly got into a mid-air fight with Maddox, their eldest son, so maybe Pitt should just slow his roll about begging for joint custody. The father and son reportedly saw each other for the first time since September during a therapy appointment. Maddox had reportedly refused to see Pitt because he was still “mad” at  him. He did meet with the other kids, as per their temporary custody agreement. So far, a therapist has been present every time he visits with the other kids. Sources close to the fam alleged the fight between Pitt and Maddox was “the kind of disagreements that sometimes occur between teenage boys and their fathers.

Things are pretty freaking intense for Brangelina and their kids right now. That doesn’t make it any easier to look away from the train wreck, sorry guys.
