Michael Bublé announces his 3-year-old son, Noah, has cancer

In one of the most heartbreaking Facebook posts you’ll ever read, Michael Bublé confirmed his son has cancer and said he and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, are “devastated.” Noah, 3, was diagnosed when Bublé and Lopilato took him to the doctor for what they thought was a case of the mumps. Although Bublé’s Canadian and his wife is Argentinian, Noah’s getting treatment in the United States, according to Bublé’s Facebook post to fans.

He wrote, “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.” He added, “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy.”

The singer added that it’s going to be a long journey ahead and they hope to “win this battle, God willing.” He didn’t confirm the type of cancer or any details about the illness, but really, who cares what type of cancer it is? It’s terrible all around.

If you really want your heart to break, you can scroll through Bublé’s Instagram feed, which is littered with pictures of him, Noah, and his other son, Elias, who was born in January. They’re like the happiest little family on all of social media. No family deserves to have deal with something so terrible as a cancer diagnosis for their toddler, and the pictures of them all laughing together are tough reminders of how quickly things can change.

Bublé told Entertainment Tonight in October that his only regret about fatherhood is that he didn’t do it sooner. Like, who says that? “I love them more than I’ll ever love anything, or anyone in the whole universe. I think it gave me perspective on life that I think I very badly needed,” he said. “It’s hard to be able to quantify that level of love.”

The 41-year-old dad added, “I didn’t even know that there was that color in the spectrum. I didn’t know that level of love existed. But it makes me better at everything. It allows me to pull more emotion and be more honest and to be in the moment.”

Bublé just released an album, Nobody But Me, and he and his wife, who’s a model, are taking time off work to “devote all [their] time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
