A 5th-grade girl wrote a killer list of rules for a boy who wouldn’t leave her alone

From a young age, girls are taught that when boys invade our space and hurt us physically and emotionally, they’re doing it because they like us. But one fifth-grader’s list of rules for a boy who won’t leave her alone spells out, in no uncertain terms, that this is bullshit.

When Zoe kept receiving unwanted attention from her classmate, Noah (no last names given), she wrote a set of “Rules & Regulations” for him to stop disrespecting her and leave her the hell alone. Tweeter @WhosDenverJones shared the list online after a teacher friend sent it to her. In just a few days, it had a ton of attention, because it’s truly amazing.

Although it’s meant for a boy in elementary school, Zoe’s seven-point list can apply at any age:

  1. Do not touch my shoulder.

  2. Do not get behind me with all that playing & foolishness. (Don’t get behind me at all.)

  3. Do not speak to me unless it’s a greeting, which will be never.

  4. Stop playing with me on the bus.

  5. I have a short temper with people and you ruin my day because you play 2 much.

  6. Reread 500 times.

  7. You like me (as a gf) but I don’t like you (as a bf) I’m too yong young!

If you break any of these rules I’m calling my dad, my mom’s friend, my fake mom, and a janator (don’t mind spelling) i know!!!!!!

If you ruin my day I’m going to have to go to counseling!!!!

Stop playing with me!!!!!!

Twitter users were soon praising Zoe for her willingness to assert her own boundaries, as well as her ability to lay out how consent works in no uncertain terms.

TBH, you can probably name several grown men off the top of your head who need a list like this. If only we could call our fake moms and janitor friends to back us up every time a dude tried to badger us into satisfying his sense of entitlement. Zoe, you are an inspiration to us all, and I pity the poor guy who even thinks of getting behind you with playing or foolishness at any age.
