Mother-daughter text convo exposes what everyone thinks while shopping for tampons
When your uterus decides to spontaneously shed its lining and you’re forced to crawl to the store for more tampons, the last thing you want to do is spend 30 minutes wandering aimlessly around trying to find the very vital goods. A depressingly funny texting convo between a mother and daughter about tampons perfectly highlights the struggle and places the blame where it obviously belongs — the male species.
Belinda Hankins sent her 13-year-old daughter into the store to buy tampons, which turned out to be much harder than either anticipated, as they were hidden in a corner without any sign or label. The Arkansas mom first tells her confused and lost teen to look by the condoms and lube and then by the diapers, as her daughter becomes more and more outraged by the situation. For a while, she’s only texting her mom in all caps, writing “EVERYTHING IS HERE EXCEPT WHAT I NEED” and “THIS STORE ISN’T REAL.”
Hankins posted screenshots of the texts to Facebook, writing: “THIS was the highlight of my parenting week. Sending my 13-year-old daughter into the store for (whispers) “feminine hygiene products,” and having the following text exchange. I died, she gave me life, I died again.” It will probably give you life too — it’s that good.
You can sense her growing desperation through the phone.
The 13-year-old has already come to the realization that vaginas are not to be talked about or even referenced.
I really want to know what a “vaj mobile” is.
This mom has clearly taught her daughter well.
