Rihanna’s Response To Drake’s Adorable Billboard For Her Was A Little Confusing
Rihanna has it all – gorgeous looks, a great career, and Drake’s attention. Rumors about Rih and Drizzy have continued in constant rotation amidst their frequent collaborations and sexy performances. Now, Drake’s congratulations billboard for Rihanna and her cryptic response have added fuel to a burning rumor mill fire. The billboard was brought to the internet’s attention by Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi when she posted it on her Twitter page in the midst of recent reports about Rihanna and Drake dating again. Shahidi commented that the picture was #goals, and no one seemed to disagree.
Located somewhere in Los Angeles, the message on Drake’s billboard says, “Congratulations to Rihanna from Drake and Everyone at Ovo,” but no one really saw any of the words after “Drake.” Why? Because people only see what they want to see and everyone wants to see Rihanna and Drake madly in love. This makes sense — their chemistry is undeniable, and no one can really resist seeing two extremely famous people coming together to form a super-couple. Many of their fans rejoiced over the rapper’s affection for the Bajan beauty and took it as a sign that there is probably definitely something going on between the pair. Others wondered why they couldn’t get the same level of love from the people in their lives.
However, Rihanna’s Instagram response to the billboard seems to have fans a little confused. Rihanna posted a photo of the billboard with a simple caption: “When he extra,” along with a heart emoji and trophy. Some fans took it as her saying that he was doing too much with the billboard display while others thought she was flattered by the attention. After all, why add a heart and trophy (keeper, perhaps?) to a message meant to be shady? Right?! Either way, three words and two emojis were enough to drive social media into a frenzy.

While the meaning behind Rihanna’s post may not be clear, the reason behind Drake’s billboard is more obvious. Rihanna received the 2016 VMA Video Vanguard award at this year’s MTV VMA Awards, and while we are all happy for her, Drake is the happiest of all. After her VMA performance, Drake presented her with the Video Vanguard award statue, because of course he had a gap in his schedule for his favorite woman.
None of us mere mortals may ever know what’s really going down with the 6 God and Bad Gal Riri, but it’s always fun to speculate. Long live Drihanna.
